This is brilliant! Such a simple solution for such an annoying problem! How come there are only 2 likes, though? And no comments until now?? Anyone who sews has this problem, and I surely haven't seen a better, easier, cheaper solution! Great idea! Thanks so much for sharing.

don't know what the idea was , all i heard was just make and that was it . what exactly did she say after that , because i couldn't even see the thing in the video .

I have no clue either, but later in the video, how to cut the tubes she was clear. And I suspect the tubes is what she was referring to earlier that was not understandable.

Very neat idea! I tried the suggestion from @mikefanelli545 by pulling the tail of the thread tight into the wound bobbin thread. It works too, but only on bobbins with enough thread already wound on them. So, that's a good suggestion too, but scantily clad bobbins that aren't ready to be wound up again sure could benefit from some plastic tubing holding it in tight. Thank you!

Glad I saw your video before I ordered some. Saved me some money since I have the tubing already. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.

Great idea, but there's a better way. Take a wound bobbin in one hand and grasp the end of the thread with the other hand. Pull the thread clockwise and tight so that it embeds into the bobbin or into the wound thread. Snip off the excess. To loosen it grasp the end of the thread and pull it in the opposite direction or counter clockwise. It works. I do this with spools of thread too.

Works for my thicker wound bobbins but not for the ones that are too sparsely wound (i.e., running low but not yet ready to rewind.) But I'll definitely use it on the thicker ones. Thank you!

I've used this method for a few years now. I saw this on some post way back when and started doing it this way. Its a great idea and yes, those bobbins stay put with no thread unraveling. It Works!

Put it into a bobbin storage box and you won't need to make things to control them.
