This tune is a true masterpiece that for me has stood the test of time. So melodic, brutal, manic, psychedelic, twisted, unsettling, exhilarating, innovative, and ridiculously proggy. How did they even come up with this insanity that checks so many boxes, craziness and brilliance.

Mike Woz I'm excited to see what they do,but so far I've only heard war eternal (song) and I like it, but I hope they utilize her different styles more. Otherwise, they'd rather they pick a vocalist who just specializes in growls.

The riff at 0:47 is probably one of the best riffs I've ever heard. It's understated, since you can hardly hear it over the vocals, but my lord, it's genius and brutal.

The way she harmonizes the screams 1:10 is amazing. I don’t know why more screamers do it.
Her tonal contral is very special, you hear it clearly in the intro riff as well, her screams have a very distinctive tone.

And yes the chemistry with Alissa despite their infighting as some people love to focus on they made some top knotch kind of avant-garde stuff that they were on the cusp of getting too but never did. I myself have heard their newest album Orphans as well while their are a few alright tracks for different reasons it just pales in comparison and doesn't hit the way it use to with Alissa. And yeah that cover not that great I much prefer the original any day. What do you think of their new album Orphans?

It goes without saying Alissa's lyrics are miles, lightyears and even far to intellectual for the streamline audience Vicky has dragged into the house knowing hers are nothing to write home about at all. What's your favorite Alissa era album? Mine is Prisoners but I love them all honestly. Far as Five and Eye Of Providence which are Vicky's other two albums with the band. Five is streamline garbage and EOP while it had some decent songs in the first half slightly it just got boring by the end. Not too mention lyrically sort of ripping off her Alissa's writing style but not does as well despite their best efforts or even in their hatred of her.

Alissa sings faster songs than Angela never sung before, on War Eternal album. fact. Also being the loudest isn't important as most people believe, Sometimes Alissa is louder sometimes she's not!. Most people also confuse 'low dirty vocal' with 'growls. You noticed Alissa's low pitch 'melody' in the War Eternanl album songs? it's beautiful to metal heads.

Honestly since I heard it for the first time (I was around 11-12) I thought it was such a brutal and great song. With time I got to really understand and think about the lyrics and I only liked more. Today I'm 19 close to 20 and tbh I barely listen to metal anymore, but damn this song is so fucking great in so many ways, I still think it needs more recognition.

If I remember correctly the intro is from the studio when she screamed in frustration about something within a take. and they just decided to keep it like this for the intro😊😄
Lullabies for the Dormant Mind is by far the greatest album of this genre,no Arch Enemy album or anything else will even come close to it
