- Learn how to remove the moisture / condensation from a BMW lights headlights. This is a BMW 3 series E90 headlamp and this fix took me about 30 mins in total. You will need the use of a hairdryer.
Thia is a simple and effective remedy, I love its simplicity. I have a 2010 3series E91 it takes 2.5 - 3 hours for a professional company to fix the issue (if it is a faulty seal) They have to take a panel off underneath then remove the front bumper in order to remove and reseal the headlamp. £200+
I did exactly the same but put small packs of Cilicia gel behind the holder once dried out.
I just turn on the lamps and hit it with a hair dryer for 20 minutes. Always does the trick until you actually take out the light and fully seal it back.
Commenter McCommentFace yeah my issue was caused by the bulb being fitted incorrectly and the cap not fitted at all. So the moisture got in after my car was jet washed. After doing this the moisture never came back as it wasn’t a sealed issue. Cheers for watching.
Absolutely brilliant trick
Going to give this a go on my Lexus in the morning. Thanks. Just subscribed 👌
Josh Hosier cheers mate did it work?
Hi mate, I used this advice as one of my lights had lots of condensation. Had a look with the wheel turned as you mentioned, and the cover for this light was missing. Any ideas where I can get a replacement part? Thanks
Great vid man thanks 👍
Cheers mate.
put a couple packs of silica gel inside the headlight (behind reflector) itll dry itself in a couple of days. none of this fuss.
zxz1357 That didn’t work for me. So I tried this method and it worked and never came back
@@chinwart wierd i put a large 25g packet I got from eBay inside the top access panel (e92) and it sorted it.
Ive just done this but with in half hour it was back and even worse
Thanks mate
Will it work w the vacuum if I'm not able to remove the bulbs?
You need to try and have an outlet for the moisture. Is their a cap you can remove?
@@chinwart I'll look into that. Thank you mate
@@bradleybraaten112 No problem. Also if you have a slight leak in the seal it’s probably going to come back. The guy in this video got moisture in the lens due to a cap being left off after a bulb change.
I have the same problem. Please i will use the hair dryer hot or cold air?
Taoufik story sorry for the late reply. Hope you got it sorted. Hot air is what you need to use
@@pauldoingstuff496 thank you so much.
Cold or hot air
samuel reynoso Hot air
This doesn't solve the problem.. Just leave the rubber covers off the back of the light problem solved works every time.
v innie that didn’t work for me. In fact it was because a rubber cover came off how water got in the lens after a car wash. After using this technique it never came back so I disagree. It worked perfectly in this instance.
Please dont leave the rubber off permanently. You only take off the rubber for it to dry faster in the sun. If you forget to put it back, more water will enter into the headlight next time it rains
But it will return
William Wallace over a year later and never came back so I think you’re wrong.
Did the moisture come back ?
mr turner No mate it’s never come back. It won’t come back unless you have some leaking from the headlight seals. My moisture was caused by incorrect fitment of a bulb.
@@pauldoingstuff496 ill give it a go then m8. Its gotta be worth a try cheers
mr turner cool let me know how you get on mate.
Dried it out today took 50 mins ill check how it is in the morning n let you no m8
mr turner cool has it stayed away mate?
Hey mate, i done this with my 116i & i can already see the moisture coming back :(
This means u have a crack where moisture can enter the headlights its not sealed like it should be .
@@TheMineLt thank you
Solution résolution ?
Warning contect: this is just how to remove moisure, not how to fix it. 😃
Well it never came back for me.
you're right, specially if there was a crack or leak, but I reckon it's brilliant and fast way in order to pass any inspection, , I was going to do it the hard way but after watching this video, I am truly glad that I came across it , cheers
