I would of used RTV as well you gotta make sure it seals working on my 2.3 saleen blower and will be doing the same for the lid. Just finished up porting the rear of the case will see if it makes a difference.
love the build you have shared a lot of great knowledge when it comes to our trucks. I'm wondering why you went through all the trouble to go with the GT500 SC when I feel like you could have gotten better HP gains and a simpler install with say a Whipple?
I appreciate the kind words! Well, I got the blower, midplate, and everything for 100% free, so there's that lol. But also, it's different, and you hardly ever see people with them, since it's not as bolt on friendly, so I like the fact it's not cookie cutter and on every truck. It's also very comparable to its equivalent 2.3 whipple. They make about the same hp, whipple might make a little more, but this tvs makes quite a bit more torque, so it maintains that torque heavy feel these trucks are known for!
These 2.3 tvs blowers are very cacapable. They will make every bit the power a twin screw will displacement for displacement if not more and alot more torque and average power. 2.3 tvs can make damn good power.
Glad you got it figured out my friend. Vacuum leaks can be a pain. If it's been said before I apologize but just wanted to put it out there that I thought that labeling it "gt500 swapped lightning" on your videos was a bit misleading.
Did you ever get the truck nice smooth adding these blowers and big throttle bodies can be a bit of a pain to calibrate but once they are the results are well worth it.
I would personally go whipple. Can make plenty of power and reliably. Kenne Bells are ok too, but make more heat, so take alittle more effort to make right.
Same, if it works it works! Some of these Lightning guys are so "oem only" purists, they throw tantrums and freak out when you do anything outside of "proper" lol. You should see some of the hate comments I get in the groups and forums lol
@@DebtLife_Projects When you build, OEM is out the window with issues like this and many others you will come up on. For you guys out there that think different, you have never built anything that's pushing this amount of H.P. and more. I have a few notches under my belt since I started building in 1969 and hung it up in 2018....
Been binge watching your Chanel lately ,my family has a 99 lightning that was daily driven up until about 2017 where it’s been sitting and turned on about every 2 weeks but driven no more than 150 miles since 2017 ,truck sits at 130k miles and has a lower pulley,k&n cold air, headers and full exhaust + a tune. What should we do to the truck to get it ready to be daily driven again ?
when you had that vac leak, what was your vac.boost guage showing at idle? suspecting i have a leak, after i have removed and cleaned lower intake, put some good cams in, and now vac at idle is 10-12....
Hey, I noticed we're in the same general area in FL. Are there any reliable shops around you'd recommend that can install a fuel system in an cobra? I have all the parts, I just don't have the time to do it myself.
Truck is working great! Just been busy with life is all, but I've been working on videos again the last couple weeks, and one is coming this Sunday. 🤘😁
There is always something when you highly modify the vehicle looks awesome love your build.
I appreciate it! 🤘😁 got that right though, always something lol

Oh nice, that should make a nice difference! Once I get a baseline, I'll probably pull mine and port it too

It should say gt500 blower swapped lightning lol

Yup! Got it all dialed in, it's cruising nice now. Still need to do WOT stuff, but that's coming soon. Lots of videos in the bank and ready to go
You should smooth down the 5.8 on the blower and paint the blower red w svt in black or visa versa that would look awesome and give it that oem+ feel.
Any updates pal? Been waiting haha. Also can you share what you did for your lower end? Im starting to get ready to order mine.
What would you recommend keene bell supercharger or Whipple supercharger

No biggie, I use RTV as well, on a lot of stuff......I keep (well, kept) every type made handy.

Somewhere around -17, of course it'll vary depending on cams/setup

What radiator overflow tank is that? Mustang?
Is Hose Hustle still in business?
Yup. Hose Hustler on Facebook, or tag Tim White in one of the Facebook groups and he will get with ya
Yo man wheres the Lightning videos? I wanna see this thing drive
What's going on haven't seen a video from you is your truck working yet?
Truck is working great! Just been busy with life is all, but I've been working on videos again the last couple weeks, and one is coming this Sunday. 🤘😁
Wouldn't be a proper "build" or project without some hickups, i'm sure you'll get them worked out and it'll be ripping in no time! 🤞😁
Got that right, it's always something, but I'll get it! 🤘😁
OH YEAH
