I enjoyed your reaction. I always loved Rush, but the songs get better each time you hear them until you become rabid. They never get old. At least to me. You should listen to 2112 or Xanadu live Exit Stage Left tour.
It's because he knows good music...his DNA is molecularly connecting with Rush like H2O..."no flow without the other"...from "Chemistry" song by Rush off Signals album.
Friend, I was 15 years old again listening to this for the first time as I watched your reaction - one of my very favorites from the one band that I grew up with and still love today. RIP Neil.
Loving your enthusiasm! This is a fantastic song that gets better every time you listen to it. Other Suggestions Natural Science from the Molson Amphitheatre Toronto Xanadu from Exit Stage Left Working Man live in Cleveland Digital Man from the Snakes and Arrows tour Cheers
I just started playing this live with a band. It is on my top 5-10 Rush tunes for sure. A joy to watch you hear it for the first time. You had the right response to let us all know you are a forever Rush head now 🎉.
Ranked by many as 1 of the best prog rock albums of all time. This was their last 'long' song delivered in parts but what a song, still sounds as good today as it did when released 42+ years ago.
Visited Manhattan a few years back, my first time there, the last day we were taking the subway East towards downtown in the a.m. on a Friday, this song cued up in my mind without me even thinking of it, it was like an organic psychological reaction, they absolutely nailed the energy and feel of busy big city streets, the bustle, the people, the wonder just watching so much going on at breakneck speed without a moments pause. One of my fave Rush tunes, great reaction, thanks - Cheers!
I remember well the first time I heard it all on the radio on albun hour in extra quality headphones. Oh man. Perfection. I was like, ok, I knew this was my favorite band!
@@amydavidval As far as I know, I still have the original vinyl. I'm sure it's beat to hell bc I listened to it constantly. I don't have a huge collection, unfortunately, but I remember most of what I do have, and this album is def in there. Now if I only still had a turntable.
Dude you nailed it. At 10:39 you were right there with Alex's I call them quads but I'm a drummer. But what joy you brought my 62 yo self. Rush fan since I saw the Hemispheres show G boro. N.C. You my good sir just heard a 1980 masterpiece. Thank you for letting me smile today. And doing the Camera Eye!
One of my favorite Rush songs. One of my favorite songs! I could guess by the constant smile on your face that you like it too 😁 Pure art for the ears.
My friend! I was sweating as much as you playing air instruments as i watched. My favorite Rush song. There are sooooo many more songs you need to check out! 40 years worth! Love your enthusiasm! A suggestiion would be my next favorite, Cygnus X1 Book 2: Hemispheres Enjoy!
You have by far the most sincere and joyful reactions to this music than any I have ever seen!!! The same as I had when I got the album when it fist came out…this IS music!
Rush is heavily rhythm based, but the layers of guitar and base/keyboard on top of the song are compelling. Neil was a master - "The Professor" - and could fill in like no one else. The percussion is so detailed in this piece.
I'd like to hear details about what you found compelling about this piece. I find that there is a balance between the technical execution and the artistic expression, both in meaning and performance. Niel is amazing in this, but Geddy's bass and Alex's guitar are so tight, and really carry along the lyrics. Great performance.
Quite possibly my favorite song off of Moving Pictures and that is saying a lot since I consider MP to be a perfect album. This song and Red Barchetta are 1A and 1B in my opinion.
Hi Mr NeverEnder, You are a real Music lover, I'm glad that Rush are doing it for you as has and still does for millions of us Rush fans. Thank you and keep on keeping on bud.
Amazing he buddy! Rush is een wereld apart man. Werd fan in 1991…hun discografie is zo groot dat je nooit verveeld of uitgeluisterd raakt. Wil je weer een live performance doen wellicht. Live Red Barchetta bijvoorbeeld? van de r30 tour is waanzinnig ook
I’ve been a Rush fan for four decades, and The Camera Eye has been my favorite Rush song for almost as long. So many moods and genius shifts, cool lyrics, muscular guitar sounds, good synths (not too much), Neil’s amazing drum fills, and the incredible guitar solo with bass solo layered in. I loved seeing and hearing you react to it - best song on Moving Pictures, HELL YES, and underrated by most people.
Thank you sir, thank you. Everytime I watch your?????? no words I can think of are worthy, your reaction to this masterpiece I get the "shivers" , my eyes tear up and I smile. Which I rarely ever do anymore. Thank you man. 😊 Hey, watch it live when Neil looses a main tom.🤪 Underdog Alex nails it !
Welcome to the World that is RUSH. simply 3 virtuoso Men... YES everything you hear is JUST them. no magic tricks or autotune. Lead Singer, Geddy Lee is also the Bassist and Keyboard guru. Alex Lifeson is the Guitarist. The Grand Magian, Widely know as "The Professor" Neil Peart, drummer, lyricist. Search and watch RUSH. Neil passed Jan. 7, 2020 and they officially retired the Band in memory of Neil. There is not ONE drummer in this modern, rock age that Neil, "The Professor" has not influenced.
TOTALLY REALLY LOVE the reaction!!!!!!!! :) ♥ “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~ Romans 15:13
The song is written in 2 movements. The 1st half is called "New York" and the last is called "London". The song starts with the sounds of NYC street life and ends with the bells of Big Ben in London. It's Neil Pearts poetic impressions of the city written mostly during the recording of the previous album. It is an absolute powerhouse masterpiece.
I am 54 years old and I got this record when it came out w/ birthday $$ lol To this day it's hands down one of the best albums of all time IMO , and this song still gets better every time I hear it ... Great reaction 🤘
I always thought this was the weakest song on the album! Lol... Which is still an endorsement because Moving Pictures is...well, you know...peak period Rush.. I think Witch Hunt might possibly be the best song on the album certainly the most ppwerful statement against bigotry ever delivered in a rock song..essential listening for anyone who is taking the 'Rush ride".
