the 5mm spacer does push out the rotor a bit right? because of im debating 20-25mm spacer with built in studs for a flush look with 06 type s wheels. Im thinking 20mm since there is a 5mm spacer already right?
So what these DIY videos dont highlight is you NEED to extended studs with open end lugnuts, and your spacer needs to be machined down to fit the rotor bore. DO NOT BORE out your rotor like some sites/people tell you too. And lastly the biggest bullshit on these videos, is the 5mm spacer is wrong. You need 6.5mm or 7mm at the most to make the rotor line up perfectly center in the caliper. I found all this out the hard way after cutting, drilling and grinding only to find out the 5mm is too small. Hope this helps others avoid massive headache.
What are your wheel specs and did you have any issues after having them on for a couple of months now? Did you feel like the master cylinder was under powered at all?
When replacing studs on an rsx, did you have to cut out a hole in your heat shield? On my base 02 rsx the heat shield is in the way, I also heard thst you have to grind part of the head of the stud to get it to fit?
YouIsCheeks I don’t have my dust shields on. Can’t remember off the top of my head if you have to cut it or not. And yes I did grind down part of the head on the stud. Makes it a lot easier to install.
This ain’t safe who puts the weight of a rotor and wheel on the faith of the wheel studs. Also who drills 2 mm of metal to fit 19mm bolts . How much did u spend u could of gotten the job done for cheaper and without drilling or using such spacer. A good rolling wheel has to be hub centric .
PARTS LIST:
TL Type S Calipers w/bolts
TL Type S Rotors
5mm Spacer
Thanks for watching!
What kind of extended studs did you use ?
Can this be done a tsx
Which bolts did you use for the brake line? Thanks in advance
There's a few folks that are saying this mod disrupts the brake bias of the car. Have you noticed any issues at all?

Did you figure out what spacers are needed? I have stock type a wheels as well and got myself a pair or brembos, and am looking for spacers.
@@angelmejia1915 it's been a long time lol. I think 20mm. I have the brembo setup that requires no drilling now

Did you take off the dust pan or leave it on? Also what wheels? Stock 06?
@@Nighthawkrsx I cut it off. If you have the stock 06 wheels you'll need another 10mm spacer for the front of the rotor

Do the steel braided lines that you used were they ordered to fit a rsx or a TL

What kind of brake pads are those?
Thanks in advance.
I was hoping you could show me how to put brake pads in but you skipped that
Were you able to put in the extended lugs with no issue or did you have to remove the dust shield?
Where did you get your rotors from? Having fitment issues with rotors at local auto parts store.
Did you ever fix this issue?
Can i reuse the oem rsx brake line for the brembos?
Same question 🤔🤔

Use a 3/4 drill for that the 9/16 isn't a big enough
Did you shave your 5mm spacer?
No, the spacers I bought fit inside the hub.
Seth Lee do you happen to have a link? I’m not trying to have a sketchy shave job 😅
