MUSIC AND MOVIES: THE LEONARD ROSENMAN LEGACY - A program to commemorate the donation of The Leonard Rosenman Collection to the Fales Library Special Collection and the Steinhardt Film Scoring Program
Thank you Mr Leonard Rosenman for your brilliance for composing gorgeous music that will last a lifetime , it will last throughout the ages.
Magnificent movie , magnificent music ! Iconic, masterpiece belongs to the age’s.
Alright so I'm 3 years early. Love listening to this great conductor and his handling of one of the most haunting motion picture scores by the GREAT Leonard Rosenman.
Back again 4 years later to listen to such a haunting musical score. Tugs at my heart. Hope to see you again in the next 4 years and more!!
This music in my humble opinion is “ Oscar” music , it should have won an Oscar for best music score for a film in 1955.
So melancholy yet so hauntingly beautiful. One of my fave movie themes of all time...Cal Trask forever.
How come this score didn't get oscar nominated back then. Incredible work from Lenny.
This should have won Best Score at Oscars back then. Beautiful music!
Totally agree, this gorgeous music deserved an Oscar , the Academy does at times loses’s it’s way , goes down the wrong path , this music is absolutely magnificent , thank you Leonard Rosenman for such a gift, legendary.
thank you. Beautiful.
The genius of Rosenman
A genius for sure and his inspiration still lives on , incredible , how James Dean an icon still lives on , died in 1955 but yet somehow , someway his legacy lives on, won’t see the likes of him possibly not in this lifetime. RIP Jimmy , you are dearly loved.
@Gary Darello , he truly was a genius , scored rebel without a cause , brilliant music theme as well , so moving , both scores seem to break the heart they are so touching.
@Gary Darello I couldn’t agree with you more, Rosenman left behind a legacy of absolutely gorgeous music , composed to (rebel without a cause, East of Eden) match 2 magnificent films!
Just came over from this same ork and conductor doing Rebel Without A Cause.
Thanks again to Opernring.
Brilliant
superbe, merci.
i am going to try and bring back stirring strong themes into the movie industry. Give me a few years, I promise I'll give the current wannabes ruling Hollywood something to work for!
How's your works?
All the pain , hurt , confusion you “ may” feel in Leonard Rosenman ‘s music James Dean brings to life in East of Eden the genius of this young 24yr old , don’t think , almost sure , we will never see that again , how did Dean emote such pain in the most difficult scenes of the movie will never be known but by god , Dean was a geniusRIP
