  • My brand new 110” Cinegray 3D Sable 2 Frame Projection Screen from ‪@EliteScreensInc‬ just installed in my small 14x12ft dedicated home theater. Very impressed with image quality using an Epson LS11000 4K projector and this new screen! An excellent improvement above my starter Silver Ticket white screen (and brief experiment with a ST grey screen covered in defects)! All in all, definitely worth the price/assembly time premium for what you get and a heck of a lot easier to securely mount too! Very happy movie buff here!

Thanks so much man, just bought the LS11000 and have been overwhelmed a bit with trying to find the right screen combo. Professional advice was a 1.0 - 1.3 gain screen - something like the Stewart Neve or Silver ticket white - with a light controlled room. Have owned an Elite Sable Frame cinewhite since 2012 and know how much light reflections can wash out the image at times, especially with a high lumen projector like the LS11000. Which turned me to ALR screens, and narrowed it down to Stewart Firehawk G5, GrayHawk G4, SI Slate 1.2, and the Elite Cinegray 3D. This might be what I needed to finally land on the cheaper Cinegray.

Fantastic picture man. Great combo with that screen and projector especially for just over $500 for the screen.

Hey great looking home theater. You did a really good job getting the room set up with surround, video and the dark walls, etc. I can imagine how great it sounds. You should do a quick video or add a comment on the audio/amplifier gear, etc.

How do you like the LS11000? I am trying to decide between the LS12000 and the 5000es.

Oh man I looooove this projector! I had my heart set on a 5050UB but took a deal on an LG HU810PW, on sale at the time for $2000 from Amazon, and I found that projector's insane red laser sparkling and trashy "gray" black levels disappointing against the outgoing BenQ HT3550 I was upgrading from. However, the instant on/off got me on a laser kick so decided to give the LS11000 a try. All the reviews say that the LS12000 is the proper laser-equipped upgrade to the 5050UB w/ regards to real contrast ratio and supposedly the LS11000 has contrast closer to the 4100 series Epsons. I guess I figured the slight (supposed) contrast trade-off to me was worth the $1000 saved (+$200 Amazon Card Cashback) and trouble dealing with driving to the closest Best Buy to special order the 12000 and having to wait who knows how long.
All that said, I find the LS11000 colors on par with the HT3550 (Which had amazing colors, but low light w/ WCG filter engaged and absolutely mind-numbing HDMI handshake issues/WCG filter mechanical issues) and black levels that are much better than the the LG HU810PW and HT3550. The LS11000 also definitely runs cooler (which will be extra nice in the summer time) and quieter than the last 4 projectors I have had mounted in my room. In fact, I need to throw A Quiet Place in again for a watch as I recall the being a sub-par watch with my outgoing BenQ whirring away. It seems the 5000ES is a beast of its own but I think I'm stuck in the laser realm from now on haha. I mean it's like having a 110" TV in there now, though she is a bulky and hefty beast haha. I highly recommend it though! And hopefully some day (far in the future) when it comes time to upgrade, the then-current UB model will have a laser light source by default with the UB light filter and cost the same $3000! I took the 3yr Assurion plan from Amazon on this one as this, so far, was the single largest expense ever in my mini-theater since I set it up almost 5 years ago now.

@@kdupuis77 thanks for the reply. I contacted Projection Screen a couple of weeks ago about the LS11000 and the LS12000. According to them the LS11000 is the direct upgrade to the 5050 and the LS12000 is the direct upgrade to 6050. I was told black levels and contrast on both are good. They sent me some charts. They are authorized retailers for Epson and they are able to ship the LS12000 to me here in Texas. The Sony 5000es is laser but it has manual controls. It costs $500 more than the LS12000. So I'll have to decide which one to go with.

I bought this particular screen on Amazon here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YJG4FMA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 for $505 last month. Pricing on Amazon fluctuates wildly at times though and this model is currently selling for $570 there now. Hope that helps!
