Things I love about the WASP -- the ENH waveform, the repeating ENV and the filter control section (in particular with the noise and rand LFO shapes). And it's super fun to use the Microfreak as the MIDI controller! 😅👍 (I also highly recommend the CAT.)
The Wasp and the Cat are on my list of interesting synths to possibly get. They can make some dirty, gnarly sounds that are a little off the beaten DSI, Moog, Korg paths.
Just received mine today. It was on special at Andertons. Only £133 plus postage. I'm over the moon but I can't play with it for a couple of weeks because I've in the middle of moving my studio. Thanks for the vid Scott ✌️
Ima noob. What do I need to run a Behringuer WASP? I have pc, audio interface and monitors. Do I need a MIDI controller? Do I need some kind of amplification? Thanks.
If you're happy to program MIDI information in your DAW, you don't need a controller. But, if you wan't to "play" it, yes you'll need one. You will need a USB cable or a MIDI interface, though it's possible that your audio interface has MIDI ports. In which case you'll only need a 5-pin MIDI cable. No amplification should be required. I hope I've adequately answered your questions, good luck!
Yes, it did. It actually rears its head in this video at one point. But, I raised the issue with Behringer and they’re taking care of it. I’m actually very impressed with their customer service :)
Hi, was just wondering how you connected your wasp to your keyboard using the usb connection. I can see your not using the 5 pin midi connectors and was wondering how to achieved that as my MIDI keyboard dosent have 5pin midi in or out. Is there some kind of program you use? are you running it through a DAW?
Yes, I’m running it through my DAW. MIDI master keyboard > Logic > External MIDI > Wasp. I have a Waldorf Streichfett that sits on my desk, powered and controlled by USB. When I’m demo-img a product like this, it’s just easier to use that cable :)
@@ScottAmpleford Sweet thanks ive had some trouble trying to get it to work, have you ever considered doing a tutorial for something like this? I know people who have had similar issues but I cant seem to find anyone who has made a video showing how this works, thanks for your help tho :)
@@ScottAmpleford I’ve seen this video as well. 🔥 You really gave me a helping hand in choosing the Behringer Wasp and Neutron module. 👻👻👻 I’m also looking into the Behringer Pro 1.
@@divinevirtualreality The Neutron really is fantastic, very much earned it’s place in my studio. The Pro-1 less so, I’m just not connecting with it as well. That’s why there hasn’t been a full demo video from me.

Good luck with the move and I hope you enjoy your synth!
@@ScottAmpleford Cheers bud ✌️All going well so far. Hoping to be finished by the end of this week
Man that's a little bugger.... Thought it was bigger, but no problem! Still want it!!

@@ScottAmpleford Thanks!!
@@ScottAmpleford Dont forget them audio cable(s)!!
This would go nicely with my neutron for ,more fat bass
Does your WASP has the double triggering problem ?

What are they doing about it? Id like to get this issue fixed o my unit
@@tylergates4075 They’re repairing the unit.
@@tylergates4075 I think it is a hardware issue. Cant be fixed by software firmware
Awesome
Mooi gedaan, groeten van de Nederlander.

@@elisheppard20 Good suggestion!
I’ll be sure to do a quick tutorial in my next product demo! Thanks for the feedback :)
@@ScottAmpleford Awesome that would be super useful. I also use logic as my primary DAW so this would be great, thanks again
I notice you didn’t mess with the noise signal. lol Other then that I love the video. I own a wasp myself.
Huh, you’re right.
I must’ve been saving that for the full demo: ua-cam.com/video/4CBIusCR8jY/v-deo.html

This is one heck of a knarly gritty little beast and doesn't sound digital.
The enhanced WF is the meat and potatoes!!
WF? errr...Wooden Flaps!?
