Inspiring video! After playing with it, I found a few optimizations when using Scaler with Bitwig, if helpful... 1) You can use Scaler's MIDI output without its sound output just by selecting "OFF" from the Scaler's instrument selector. You don't need to mess with Bitwig routing for that. That way, if you want, you can put a Polymer (or other) device on the same track as Scaler. 2) To get the bass note from a chord using the Note Grid, you need to use the "Poly to Mono" device, selecting "Min". You had the right idea but wrong Grid device. 3) You can randomize the chord in Scaler in a single Bitwig clip by using the Randomize device before Scaler to randomize the pitch. You may need to also use a Key Filter too since Scaler expects input in C Major.

Genius genius genius! That’s epic brother thank you
in scaler you can set the output to multi channel output. this will output each note of the chord on a different channel. Channel 1 will output all the chord notes. bass notes will then be on channel two, and so on and so forth....you can then use the channel filter to select the note you want....
damn man, that was soooo cool. really beautiful track, crazy you did that on the fly. love that you used several different modulators, like the parsec 6 i think it's called? using the eq with sidechain instead of trackspacer. and the project macro too.and of course the rules in the clip launcher. brilliant! just so many great tips and tricks there, one of the best tutorials i've seen. thank you!

Aww wow! What amazing feedback :) Thank you SO much
FYI, your last few Bitwig videos (which are great, by the way!) seem to be clipping. Not sure if that's gain staging in Bitwig or you're running too hot into your video recorder.

It’s because they were recorded into Zoom haha. Moving forward I’ll be recording them direct to my computer. Thanks for the heads up though!
As someone who has ableton, and am trying to find my "sound", would it be fair to say that Bitwig can do what ableton can do, but has all the added "modifiers" to keep things moving and more alive?
I'm very new to Bitwig. Can all the stuff you're doing with the randomness on the Arp sound be sent out to a modular synth instead? I have an Expert Sleepers ES-8.

Thanks brother!
@0:25 this moment is the most hilarious opening to any video about making music: "Let's listen to what we got! ...sounds a bit f***ed..." HAHAHAHA
Hahahaha

Great Work....
Thank you so much 😀

I write everything in the key of N.
And what a beautiful key that is!

Well I guess I know what I'm doing for the Christmas break :D
Keep trying and you will improve.
Probably not! I just get worse with each day
Is bitwig your daw of choice? Do you use others?
I'm a 50/50 between Bitwig & Ableton. Been using Ableton for about 11 years now and Bitwig since the day it came out.
