The mind is a very powerful thing, and if you let it run loose and get power over you that's when shit can get weird. Mad props for overcoming the fear my dude
What you need is a crap load of peer pressure and much bigger balls! I have only been doing mountain biking for 4 months and just a few weeks back I sent it off a 4 meter high double black diamond wooden skinny drop on my hard-tail. It is kinda crazy but with strong determination, a bit of peer pressure, lots of confidence in yourself, and a super heavy sack, you will be amazed at what you can do on your bike!
I love how you do most of these drops by yourself. I learnt to do this but after a massive 200ft drop innto a mine shafts i have to think twice about being balls deep in the bush
I love drops. I can't seem to brave a gap jump yet, but drops up to about 4ft high don't seem to bother me. One of my favorite trails has a northshore style skinny with a 3ft drop at the end, and it's REALLY fun, but I have to hit the brakes hard as soon as I'm on the ground because it's quickly followed by a long gap jump! Great vid!
Awesome build man!!!! Love how your honest about being fearful about hitting features and love the overcoming of that fear. Best feeling in the world when it all comes together. Keep the vids coming man!!!!
Dang, that is a SICK drop. I need to build a big one like that. great job overcoming the anxiety to hit it... Looks big on camera and I'm sure it feels much bigger in person. That is the best feeling when you overcome something like that!
Ohhhhh I understand the feeling really well! I did a drop sessions a few weeks ago and breaking the mental barrier to jump was the toughest part. Great video, I get very excited when I see the notification popping up.
Sick build, and good in ya for hitting the drop! I'd like to build some more wooden stuff especially drops as I don't have too many to practice on at home but woods expensive! lol maybe if I get a job my parent won't have any more excuses ;)
I'm pretty sure BTB had this style of video before Seth got his new place and started building trails. Great that you're getting the recognition but sucks that you're being overshadowed. Do you, my good man!
I would highly recommend a progressive drop, one that you can adjust the height on, I made mine by stacking pallets, but I went from about 1' to 6' in height over the course of 2 months
Bike Life with Rob Agreed! I was doing this 4 ft thing, and one go my feet slipped half of the pedals and ever since I’ve been terrified of drops, even if they’re only like 1 or 2 feet
Hey man! Love your vids. Could u give me some advise on how to start riding without being near any hills/mountains. Also how do I start building nice flow track and other cool stuff! Thankyou
Thats actually why I started building features. We really dont have anything to ride where I live beside XC trail (incredible xc trail) so I started building things to progress my skills! Id say get yourself a couple small ramps and head to a park! Youd be amazed with how much you can progress with 2 small jumps.
Literally having the same problem with this jump at my local park I know I can do it because I’ve done stuff like this before and now this video has shown me I can So thanks (also love the content)
Good job on connecting your x-bracing at the center point. Structurally without that the bracing doesn't act in the frame action you are going for. Also way to hot the drop man.
I'm loving these videos man! I've done a bunch of this kind of thing in every house I lived in, after I moved from Vancouver, BC to Tennessee and now Orlando, FL. Hey, if you ever need a place to stay and visit Orlando, come on buy, one day Disney, one day build :). Also are you in St. Louis? I grew up in Manchester.
Great video, just wondering why you are using a machete to cut small roots at 0:50 when some small gardening clippers would be way easier and don’t cut into the trail
Thanks Sean! Actually its a hatchet/machete type tool. Its reeeeally great at chopping down to the roots so the weeds wont grow back. You can see im actually chopping into the ground and not the stem of the weed. Good question though!
I’m assuming you used pressure treated pine for this. How much did the build for the deck cost? If it’s not too much trouble, could you please put up a parts list? Thanks! Great video.
I reckon leave the bridge so you have a case pad if you mess up the jump, if you case the step up then that’s a season ending injury. That’s my two cents
Do you have any public trails nearby? Closest for me is about an hour away and that’s why I built some stuff in my backyard. Keep up the great builds and I’m stoked seeing you progress both in building and riding.
My closest trail is about a half hour away, but they are all XC trail. I love it for when Im in the mood for a long ride but its tough to progress without any features. Thats why I started to build. I wanted to progress my riding much faster for when I went places. That way I could actually ride stuff instead of getting stuck riding more XC trail!
Haha this is awesome bro! Legit. I’ve been rolling it around in my mind to build some trails an features around our property as well. Haven’t taken the initial plunge tho! This motivates me so much! Thanks for taking the time an all the hard work that goes into it to share with the world. 💯🤜🏻🤛🏻 ps I just subscribed and will now been looking for your vids in my notifications.
So how tall is the biggest drop u have evr done... one time I knocked myself out on a six foot drop... idk what evn happened.. all I remember was being at the top of it then next thing I woke up on the ground at the bottom of it...
Wow 9ft gap, that’s awesome! you gave me hope I can get through my mental block as well... I’m landing on a steep side slope, so I’ll also need to cut more into the hillside to provide a nice wide landing.
Every time I watch this I fill like. I’m watching some one wth over a million subs keep it up u inspire me good job
WELL DANG! Thanks a lot, Kai! I'm only 985 thousand away! Anyday now right?

I love how you do most of these drops by yourself. I learnt to do this but after a massive 200ft drop innto a mine shafts i have to think twice about being balls deep in the bush
Congrats man! Built a great jump and conquered your fears, you're having a great week.
This is awesome!

I find that jumping out of trees as a kid has helped my mind overcome drops like this so much
Congradulitos on conquering that mofe!
That was cool well done deafly going to watch your other videos
Great job. Very fun.
Dang, that is a SICK drop. I need to build a big one like that. great job overcoming the anxiety to hit it... Looks big on camera and I'm sure it feels much bigger in person. That is the best feeling when you overcome something like that!

I'm loving that noclip drone shot in the beginning
Great stick dude!
Progression dude! Love it
You come up with some really great angles to shoot from , nice work and I am nervous to see what you build next!
You my friend deserve more subscribers 👍
That looks sick!

Dude such a great video! Also nice drone work! And that transition at 5:52 was perfect 👌🏼
Bruh u have the dream backyard
Good job dude! Your video encouraged me to go out there and build some random woodwork.
Dude you rock. Had me at 100ft wall. Keep it coming
Backyard Trail Builds, this is your best video yet! By far. Loved it!
I live in the most flat area in the world:( but i try to ride everywhere i can. I like videos like this. I subscribed :)
I'm pretty sure BTB had this style of video before Seth got his new place and started building trails. Great that you're getting the recognition but sucks that you're being overshadowed. Do you, my good man!
This is awesome now I don’t have to wait for a Seth’s bike hacks video I can watch you
Another winner great idea
I applaud you, brave knight of the backyard trail! This was awesome and very inspiring 🤘
Well done! Looks like if you had anymore speed you would clear the landing ramp!
That's me every time I look at any feature haha That thing is awesome, way to go!
I would highly recommend a progressive drop, one that you can adjust the height on, I made mine by stacking pallets, but I went from about 1' to 6' in height over the course of 2 months
I did the same thing but with the landing
Dude nice job! It’s tough dealing with bigger features but you’re right, it’s all a mind game
Ahh that looks so sick!!
killing it with the uploads btw
I had a bad experience on a drop, so I know that anxiety that’s there until you do it again! Nice work
Bike Life with Rob Agreed! I was doing this 4 ft thing, and one go my feet slipped half of the pedals and ever since I’ve been terrified of drops, even if they’re only like 1 or 2 feet

Badass vids dude love em! You just have to send jumps like that you just gotta do the 123 go thing and send it man dont over think it!
Yew! Sweet drop, and good on you for winning that argument with yourself and sending it 🤘😀
Where do u get all of your dirt from?
You should have a left hand berm with a shark fin after it 👍
Caught your videos from a recommended box coming from Seth’s videos, hope other people do too cause your content is dooooooope

Build step up step down

Nice !
Another great build that I want to come hit. Nice bro
Dude this is amazing. I gotta find a skid steer...
If I was you, I'd learn how to bunny hop, it can be really helpful at stuff like that!! 😉😉Nice drop!

Orlando! Let's build something Philip! Do you ever ride the night rides on Wednesdays at Markham?
Thats awesome, Philip! Youve lived in some rad places! And yes, I live in STL. Im about a half hour out from Manchester.
sick bass slap
I wish I had really good trails near me
You deserve so much more subs, keep it up! 💗

Dang, it’s crazy to see you’ve gone from 200 subs to 14k in about 5 months
I reckon leave the bridge so you have a case pad if you mess up the jump, if you case the step up then that’s a season ending injury. That’s my two cents
Meanwhile Seth is using a machete and sawsall to cut a trail😂😂😂

Whoa that was sketch! Soon you will be able to charge to ride your park. Still enjoy your editing style, just seems light and fresh.
Lovin the blues backing tracks. Also did you switch tools ? I saw you had Milwaukee and now mainly dewalt any reason?
So sick, just gained yourself a sub! You can thank UA-cam suggested 🤘🏻
the first few words of the vid i had to double check if this was Seth or not😂
What wood are u using ? Perfect videos, bro!
Greatness
So how tall is the biggest drop u have evr done... one time I knocked myself out on a six foot drop... idk what evn happened.. all I remember was being at the top of it then next thing I woke up on the ground at the bottom of it...
I wish i could build a jump in my back yard .It would be so cool
Fantastic! How long was the landing zone? I’m building one as well and need to fit it in without messing up next feature that is already in place.
I think it was around 15 or so feet of transition. Plus the 9 foot gap to the landing.
Wow 9ft gap, that’s awesome! you gave me hope I can get through my mental block as well... I’m landing on a steep side slope, so I’ll also need to cut more into the hillside to provide a nice wide landing.
Bunny hop off it!
You should make a trail map for your backyard
Did you use concrete to secure the supports?
