- It wouldn't be the Jamaaliday season without a hiccup appearing down the snowy road.
Recently Animal Jam introduced the new Jamaaliday Gift Stand on Animal Jam Classic to take replacement of the previous Christmas daily reward distribution on the game, the Jamaaliday Gift Calendar. But on the 7th day, there was a strange issue that occurred that made the member version of the Jamaaliday Hedge to appear invisible and as a loading icon when attempting to buy it. Placing it in your den would cause this item to be invisible and essentially non existent. There was also the Holly Wristband that was brought into the Gift Stand, with a member version of the item with variants that already existed as a non member version of the item when it was released in previous years. I give all my thoughts on why this is bizarre for Animal Jam to do and other opinions all in this video!

Not to mention about this mess, we used to be able to get masterpiece tokens, giving all jammers chances to make masterpieces. Also, back when we had Wildworks, they made it so that every time in December, non members would be able to use diamonds to make MPs too! Like common!
I can provide some insight into the holly bracelet situation. The idea is that being able to choose the color variant of your gift is a new ability, and a perk they want to lock behind membership. Previously, you could not choose what color item you’d get. The side effect of this is that, since there’s no way to give a random color through the shop, nonmembers only get the one color. All of the old nonmember versions with many colors are still in the game as the ones in the stand are new items. You just have to trade for them now.
As for the calendar, it was removed because of how glitchy it was. There were multiple issues with it on the backend, it was laggy, and encouraged exploitation. It was charming, but since its issues likely couldn’t be fixed and it would require an entire redo, the gift stand was the solution.
Oh I know the calendar was glitchy and clunky. It wasn’t able to give out the 8th variants of clothing items and it flat out refused to give out any variant for den items besides the second variant. The code was bugged but this was something they could’ve fixed - in fact I knew someone who fixed it and sent to them through their bug bounty program iirc and they never fixed it
As for the lack of ability to change the color of items, I acknowledged the reason you said in the video but I think it’s just extremely ridiculous to do it for items that were already non member, released in previous years with variants as non member variants (sometimes even in stores where people could freely choose) it just seemed weird and confusing
I feel like people are complaining about this too much. We are getting new items for the first time in forever, this year is actually getting brief updates again, the gift stand idea is cool asf and people are complaining :( I wouldn't be surprised if the HQ just decided to drop the game because of people being ungrateful asp :/

I wish they didn’t release the original colors or gave the den items a rare tag that released too, I lost my worth last year bc they released candy cane ornaments I had the whole set and hoarded, but I completely agree with you this update is rlly cool and you shouldn’t trade for unreleased items anyway since they could be released at anyyyy moment. ESP den items since a lot of unreleased items came out last year as well.
I do agree with that! But that's more of a constructive criticism other than whining like a lot of people are doing. The pink flower brooch for example, would've been cool to see it in green or maybe a different shade of pink, but its still awesome to see!@@Ilanabluee
Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m pretty happy about them releasing a lot of the items they are - I just think it’s strange for items they’re choosing to rerelease they’re making them member when non member versions already exist
anyone remember last year on the 31st of december when the advent calendar wouldn’t open and everyone was freaking out?

I saw someone that got scammed because of this D: They thought it was a glitched unreleased variant of the item, and gave like 3 solids for it. So sad!

With the newest update for ajpw, andriod cane last, and we had to wait a very long time. So during that, we had pretty empty servers full of glitches, including glitched seal pets, but they were completely invisible no matter what you did with them. It was so weird

Ok so the main question is: is the item gonna stay glitched forever? And does that mean we just got a new glitched item in the game? Or when the new fixed item came out did it override our inventory? Also, is this glitched item gonna be super valuable? Or nah?
It was overridden! If you bought it when it was invisible it’ll now show up as the default member variant

i like that there are new items, but i liked opening gifts on the daily countdown. i also liked that we got diamonds, we most likely won't get any this year. but the new items are good

i feel like the new concept is awesome ,, but they didn’t quite refine it in a way that makes sense .
i think worths may get confusing with the member and non member versions along with the previous releases of these items especially if they dont release again next jamaaliday .
i am glad they overrided this glitch in inventories though else that would be more glitched items to keep up with lol

why is stuff so cheap in AJ CLASSIC? (Like 10 diamonds for animals)
Diamonds used to be a lot harder than to obtain (in comparison to now where you can buy one of those animals just by logging in for a few days straight) but as soon as they got easier to obtain, price adjustments were never made
