One website suggestion for Nicks. I'd love to see a drop down under the Buying Guide or another tab that lists ALL of the leather options with boot images showing boots made in each specific leather colors/types. It would make picking a leather much easier. For that matter, the drop down could show all of the options (heal profiles, heal stack options, toe box options, etc), with photo examples of each to help individuals pick the look they want.

Under that tab, Is like you mentioned: leather types and heel types. They do already show you the soles, but why not have both. All of the different soles on actual boots. Hardware colors on actual boots. Top cap options on boots

So wouldn’t that mean they would have to make each boot in every leather option? That would be wasteful wouldn’t it? I guess they could make every single pair and hope that someone will buy it. Maybe an alternative would be some kind of augmented reality?
@@justaguy62 No, they could simply show boots as they have them in each leather option, and add them as they get more. If they don't have the boot, they could put a leather swatch image until they do.
@@dr.emilschaffhausen4683 they do have what you speak about on their site don’t they? They have 99% of the “swatches” under the buying guide. Also, if you look at each boot on the quick ship or MTO, they tell you what leathers are available for that boot which can be cross referenced back to the buying guide. OR maybe I am just missing your point?

The whole process is great to see! The stitching quality is top notch so cool to see people working with their hands at the top of their game.
Recently I received a pair of Builder Pro's in 1964 chocolate honey vibram sole 67 last and 10" high.

Pretty much the opposite of what nicks is and does. They don’t mass produce anything. They have lead times for a reason. Quality over quantity.
I understand that. ‘Mass produce’ is a poor way to word it. ‘Make them available for order’ is better. I recognize the small-batch, boutique nature of the company - I watched this and all their videos.
Pff, they should mass produce ANYTHING so people actually step up to buy their products hah. Not gonna drop $800 on boots that take half a year to show up and maybe fit me.

I would buy a pair in black if I could receive them in 2 to 4 weeks. I already have 2 pairs of Nicks boots and quality is top notch.
What about the world's toughest Crocs, but the fur-lined ones you would need to make a super spongy footbed, everything else as normal but fur-lined and spongy footbed. World's toughest Jesus saddles or the worlds toughest cowboy boots with all the trim, the world's toughest Brogues or oxfords, worlds toughest ice hockey boots. Just make sure the ankle support is there, you may have to add an extra couple of layers of footbed to screw on the blades, CCM sell blade holders and blades, I had a pair of ccm mustangs when I was young and they were just like a good pair of work boots with a double or triple thickness toecap, good heavy duty footbed and with extra padded ankle support. Google an image of a pair of ice hockey boots and you guys will see for yourself. the world's toughest brothel creepers, they would need to be blue suede and have big Crepe soles.

I was wondering what type of glue you use that you have such confident in it and will it withstand lets say hot temperatures like in a car at a very sunny hot day....Appreciate an answer.
@Ophir Memories & Illusions - It almost looks like contact cement to me.
@@wickedcabinboy from my experience contact cement tend to brake in high temperature situations - like in a car on a hot sunny day, since I need something that will withstand this kind of scenario, I was hoping their glue is better. Still no answer from them....
@@ophirb25 - I get the impression that you're going to store your boots in a in an unusually hot environment long term if not permanently. That's your decision and I cannot criticize you for it given I'm unfamiliar with your circumstances.
I cannot claim that their glue is in fact contact cement. It merely seems to be. I won't claim to be an expert on adhesives as that's a pretty specialized field of chemistry.
It's worth noting - as you are no doubt aware - that Nick's has long had an outstanding reputation for high quality footwear. I hope you get an answer from them.
After watching many of their videos and those of other manufacturers of high quality custom footwear, I've noticed that while glues are used in the construction of Nick's boots, the glue itself doesn't seem to be a sole structural component but rather serves to hold the leather in certain shapes even after the boots are stitched together.
And, boy are they stitched together; often with two rows of stitching. I cannot see anywhere where the glue alone is holding the shoe together. There must be half a mile of thread in each boot.
If I needed that kind of quality I wouldn't hesitate to buy their boots. But I don't think they make boots for nurses.

Kinda weird to do a "How it's Made" for a boot they don't sell. I like them but I don't see them on the website yet. Also very possible that this leather only comes one way and no color options available, so maybe they don't think there would be much interest. They're very handsome, and I'll keep my eyes peeled for them.

Can these be made to order? I want a pair but with brown laces and thinner sole.
Since in the description that they used the same leather as real football's, then it is pigskin. Pigskin is still strong, but it is thinner than most leathers. The only use in footwear I have heard of was WW2 Japanese service boots mostly it was the only leather that they could get in quantity at the time.
