Good morning, Tornado 922!! I consistently find myself fascinated, entertained and learning as I savor your videos. Though I'm a dual with US and Irish citizenship and lots of travels, I am more familiar with European rail systems than the average American who believes that the world revolves around single occupancy automobiles. With your videos it's so much fun to see the astounding variety of equipment, frequency of schedules, speed and increasing emphasis on rail technology abroad. Your excellent narratives make great viewing. Thank you for your attention to detail and overall professionalism. One question: Is there a front and rear driver on these main line trains -- tones and waves seem to imply that to be the case. Thank you very much for your commitment to exceptionally high quality videos. Cheers from Kansas City, Chip!!!!!
Thank you ever so much,I'm really grateful to hear that my films and narration are not only enjoyable but educational as well. In response to your question the Mainline trains only have the 1 driver at the front, sometimes they have 2. The suburban trains that are operated by Govia Great Northern have a guard in the rear of the train when they aren't checking tickets.
I also used to live very nearby between 2007 and 2009, as you look up the tracks to the left, there was a footbridge about a 1 minute walk away from our house.
A nice station in Welwyn Garden City. Always used to watch trains when I visited the Howard Centre. Hatfield is a grubbier station in my opinion, but still good to watch trains there.
I used to get a 1d (old penny) platform ticket to see the steam engines stop here. Sometimes they let us stand on the foot plate and look at the controls. (Circa 1950's)
+Tornado922 I'll go watch that now. Ik you've done Retford ML but what about the Low Level. If you do decide to go let me know and I will meet you as I live in Retford.
Hey Tornado. I'm currently in Lanzarote however I still enjoy your videos. If you would like, the Ryanair flights are either Boeing (Bow-ing) 737-800 or Boeing 787-8 Maxes. :) Hope that helped you out. Also, please could you do a QnA!? Here are some questions. 1)Why did you start UA-cam? 2)What is your favourite station? 3)Why is your name 'Tornado922'? 4)What do you record with??
It's absolutely crazy, it wasn't overly busy when I came here passenger wise but there were plenty of trains coming and going. A lot of the passengers that you saw in this video in particular were football fans
+Tornado922 So glad I live there ahha! I enjoy Stevenage though - simply because passing VTEC trains stop there. That is the only issue with Welwyn is that you don't get anything stopping other than GNR! Thanks for video :)
Nice one

Yeah I can go there. Won't be going for a while though as I have many stations I would like to get through first
Could you go to Retford Low Level or Kings Cross please
I have been to King's Cross previously if you would like to check my channel, back when it was East Coast and First Capital Connect
+Tornado922 I'll go watch that now. Ik you've done Retford ML but what about the Low Level. If you do decide to go let me know and I will meet you as I live in Retford.
+FIFA Gamer I may go to the lower level of the station but I'm not overly sure as of yet

Hello just to let you know Ryanair don't own any 787-8s
Yes it did thanks very much. I will get round to answering your questions soon :)
Thanks!!
I'll put out a video in a few weeks asking people to give me questions and then I'll answer them a couple of weeks later

What does the max appeal on great northern mean? How many max appeal great northerns are there?
It's a charity that Great Northern support so they had the livery put onto one of their 365 units
How fast are Great Northern's allowed to travel at going to London from Huntingdon? Please reply :)
As far as I'm aware the line speed is 100MPH
Thanks. My little brother doesn't like traveling too fast. I think this will be okay :) Thanks
What is this station like at rush hour? I'd be curious to see how busy it is! Great video anyway.
It's absolutely crazy, it wasn't overly busy when I came here passenger wise but there were plenty of trains coming and going. A lot of the passengers that you saw in this video in particular were football fans
+Tornado922 Congrats for 800 subscribers!
+Trains Fan / shelby3024 Thank you very much!!!

Probably the best station for trainspotting on the whole Great Northern network
Definitely a favourite of mine

TheSubArcticTrain I found Welwyn Garden City to be very enjoyable, although Stevenage is certainly a great station as well :)
