Part 3: • Mike Tyson: Coca Cola ...
    Part 1: • Mike Tyson on 2-Minute...
    --------
In this clip, Mike Tyson started out by imagining how his life would be different if his first trainer, Cus D'Amato, lived longer. Tyson explained that Cus wanted to capitalize on a big fighter, which Mike was becoming, and he thinks Cus would've gotten him a lot more endorsements. Moving along, Mike spoke about becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in history in his 1986 fight against Trevor Berbick. Tyson admitted that he wanted to "kill" Berbick for hurting Ali in a previous fight, and he went on to speak about not being surprised about Berbick being killed by his nephew. To hear more, hit the above clip.

I'm so amazed at Mike's transformation. He's so introspective and aware of his mental flaws as a young man, and you can tell he's actively working to become a better version of himself.

Mike was always introspective and one of the smartest boxers to ever fight. If you watch his interviews at 19 he is amazingly perceptive.

As someone who grew up watching Mike fight and his various sundry legal dramas over the years I have to say YES he was a wild guy and YES he did a lot of stuff he shouldn't have done but he is NOT at all, in terms of his intellect & insight, the guy he was very much portrayed as. The guy has A LOT on the ball and is incredibly introspective and perceptive in regards to himself and others.
I don't mean to excuse anything he did, or claim that he's a great guy, although I think at this stage of his life he's become a pretty good guy. I do however remember how he was portrayed and I remember it when I see people getting "rung up" as this that or the other by the media. You really can't believe what you're shown. That the guy was this interesting, this smart, and he was shown only as an animal and wild man for decades is astounding.

For those who don't know, Ali was told by numerous Doctors and a Boxing commission to stop fighting bc of his Parkinson's Disease. He didn't listen and then when he fought Berbeck he looked awful and like a very ill old man. He was 38/39. Berbeck knew this and didn't change his approach. Hence Tyson's anger.

I am a huge fan of Ali and agree he should not have been fighting by the late 70s. However he did sign up for the Holmes and Berbick fights. What were his opponents supposed to do? Stand there and let Ali punch away? Ali might have been finished by those fights but he had a history of pulling off the greatly improbable. Larry’s and Trevor were simply doing what they were supposed to do:fight.

@@michaelconverse5127 that’s cowardice. If someone you are paid to fight is not even fighting back.
There must be something wrong with you if you don’t have some honor and try to finish off someone that is already down.
