That sounded great. I remember listening to this song off a Chet Atkins record from many years ago. Chet was definitely one of the finest guitarists around. You sir, did a righteous job. I think Chet would approve.👍👍
Almost seventy years ago, when my dad's family got together, nearly everyone wanted his brother, Curt Doolin, to play this song. I don't know when Chet recorded it, but Curt's version sounded a lot like this, to my memory. It's simply great!
Sorry about the occasional glitch, you say? Hahaha.....man, I'd give everything but my soul to play as well as you do or even close. Thanks for sharing your talent. Sure do miss ole Chet.
Nice song - Great Playing!! Congratulations on another winner ! If you get the chance, check out ' Don't stop me now' ( The old song from Queen ) . This young girl does it in your finger picking style, and it's quite good. Of course, your still the best by far. Her name is Sandra something-can't quite recall. Cheers.
It never ceases to amaze me how many amazing guitar players are posting on You Tube. There is a Japanese player who does this song as close to Chet's version as I've heard. The best version of the song I've heard. Matt does a great job but like anyone who tries NOBODY does it like Chet. Nobody.
***** Hi Tony, yes it's hard to start with, but it will come, just keep practicing those bass lines - I give lessons on Skype if you're interested in an in depth look, thanks for looking, Matt
Matt why aren't you in Nashville helping out these brain dead producers who don't know the difference between major (country) and minor (rock) scales?? Anyway, this is great stuff-- and a lot harder than even the hardest of rock solos, believe me, I know.
