It's difficult to explain to anyone not a part of the rugby league community during the glory days of the late 80's to mid 90's, whether as a participant or a fan, just how much of an impact Tina had on our sport and even us. RIP to the Queen of Rock n Roll.
One of - if not the GREATEST sporting anthem songs of all time, sung by the GREATEST FEMALE performer in history……she nailed and is a part of rugby league and Australian folklore…she was part of the revival when league was at its lowest point and bought it to what it is today Farewell QUEEN …….your music will live on forever and your legacy will never DIE 🌹
Americans don't understand what she meant to Australia. The dance to her song "nutbush city limits" is unique Australian culture, we learned "proud Mary" on guitar in music class. I don't even follow rugby closely these days, but I still remember as a kid this song getting the Brookvale Oval crowd fired up pre-game. Rugby League and Australia wouldn't be what it is today without her. Legend. Always. R.I.P.
