I don't use debit cards. I use my credit cards for almost everything and love my rewards points. 5X points off per gallon of gas, 3X points off per dollar at supermarkets and restaurants, and 2% cash back for everything else. As always, thank you, Clark.
Yes… love the points , pay my bill every week, add up what I spent the previous week, pay it every Monday or Tuesday. Debit card gets used to take money out of the ATM when I want some cash that’s it.
Our credit card has too high a credit limit $$$$$ to be in our wallet. But moving needed funds into our checking account and then getting cash or using the debit card for everyday purchases safer.
I have never had a debit card. I saw the fallacy of these things since they came out. In 2002 when people were buying Olympic tickets, if they used a Debit Card they were double charged by error and were told that it would take up to 6 months for people to get their money back. When tickets cost multiple hundreds of dollars (depending on the event) people were out thousands of dollars. With a Credit Card, a double charge could be disputed, and you aren't out any money. Even if you have never had a problem, there is the possibility that your checking account could be drained and then you are charged for over drafts. Not worth it. If a business won't take a credit card, they don't get my business.
Back in 03 my CU pushed and pushed for me to get a debit card. I refused. Then they got more pushy, and I still refused. I didn’t need a debit card, I had a credit card and an ATM card.
I do not carry or ever use a debit card. I always have felt that if there is a problem with a charge I would rather have them coming after me for the money rather then me having to try to get my money back. Also I understand the legal protections I have using a credit card rather then the debit card. I still pay cash for most of my small purchases because it makes it much easier to go over my credit card bill at the end of the month looking for problems. I also want the small businesses I deal with to save money by not having to pay the high fees credit card companies charge them.

Exactly. Not everyone is disciplined with credit cards and not everyone (ie someone with low credit score) even qualifies or if they do it's a very low credit limit like $500 certainly not enough for most people's monthly expenses. It is much easier for me to stay on top of my spending with a debit card and the one I have from my credit union DOES have the same protection as a credit card. A couple of years ago I had a fraudulent charge of about $500 and they investigated and reversed it. No problem. Set up notifications so I always know what's going on.

Better explain this to block headed baby step Dave who thinks credit cards are the anti-christ.
Dave Ramsey has entered the chat and he's going to start scolding you like a child
I agree with you that Dave will call you stupid, stupid, stupid for not using a debit card because He says it has the same protection as credit card as it has a Visa or Master Card logo on it.
I then unsubscribe and stop watching his youtube videos months ago.
