The 6-1 match isn't representative, because that was just a friendly match. Turkey didn't 'park the bus' at the Euro's. It was an even game and Turkey was maybe a bit luckier and won. Moreover Turkey has a better tournament history than Austria. The current Turkish team also has an higher market value than the Austrian team. Austrians are acting like they got beat by a very weak first time attendee or something. It's good to stay objective. I agree that Austria has a bright future and wish your team the best.
@@nostaljivesimdi Thanks for your best wishes. I say Turkey parked the bus because of their few attacks when they were winning and their 5-4-1 formation. You cannot compare a friendly game to a round of 16 game of the Euros. The level of concentration and other factors are so different. Also the 6-1 made everyone believe Austria was already through, which was good because Turkiye is best as an underdog. I have to say though, I've never been that stressed in a game as in that second half. We were very lucky with that save from Mert, because I think you would have won in extra time. Would have been more interesting to rate each relative performance - as seen in the preview pic. Now it's mostly based on where teams ended, while teams like Croatia, Italy, Belgium & Hungary could end last based on expectations (D or F), while Turkey, Spain, Switzerland, Georgia, Germany are all B to S tier based on expectations (in final position, style of play or both) If you use this metric I also think France is a C and England is a B at best, based on far below expectations (but hard to give lower than B when reaching the final)
As an England fan, Spain emphatically dismantled us. Give us a C for the number of backpasses and 80 yard kick Pickford produced. There's only so much wonder goals you can score before a great team stops you. 7th is where we should end up

In the Poland-Austria match, the referee was doing his work so badly: there were supposed to be 2 penalties for Poland (for two handballs i think) and the one for Austria shouldn't even happen, Szczęsny was just defending the goal and also was kicked in the face. We would win this match if the referee knew how the rules work in football. Greetings form Polska🇵🇱
The hand balls are debatable because such handballs are - always - debatable but the Polish goalie fouled the player because he didn´t touch the ball but only the player - that is not debatable and a clear foul ....that he then was also hit in the face was bad luck but his own fault due to his foul attacking and by the way even that touch with his face how unlucky that undoubtable might be is a foul against the player in such situation..... be objective...The Polish goalie then did not argue at all but accepted the yellow card - even thankfully (he touched the refs shoulder thankfully) - because he knew exactly it could have been red as well. = So the Polish goalie knew - "the rules" and what he had done - but you clearly don´t.
@@-_E_-_E_- I didn´say that he - wanted - to foul ..but if he don´t touch the ball but only the player then it is unfortunately a foul. Most fouls in football are not wanted but happens accidentally, and that was here the case.

Germany was so unlucky, they were second best team of whole tournament and they played against best one in QF. Funny thing that if they wouldn't win with Switzerland they would probably be in the final. Also Switzerland was so good, imagine if Shaqiri had more luck and that corner would be goal.
That was so unfortunate for the Germans to face Spain in QF. However, if they only got 2nd place in the groul, they would have faced the likes of Italy, England, and the Netherlands before the Final, which the Germans didn't want.
Spain is the first country making 7/7 (wins/games), but this is just the second tournament with 7 games. France in 1984 won all their matches, though the semi with Portugal was after extra time (as was the case with Spain - Germany game).
14:19 forget to mention a lot of questionable decisions that helped Netherlands including a counter stopped for nothing and Dumfries not being sent off
Spain was dominating from the beginning and the clear favorite. Great job also to England that managed to reach the final with a good team but not comparable to the top 3-4.
for me the top 3 are spain, germany and then switzerland, personally they had a great tournament and probably wouldve gone to potentially the final if kane stayed on instead of watkins.
Having Scotland as 24th is completely fair, considering just how bad we really were. Steve Clarke will have to pull something special off in World Cup qualifying if he's to win back the nations trust
Let's be honest, England reached the final because they took the easy path, and it still cost them. On the other hand, a team that fought against great teams (Spain) and still shone deserves more respect.
I would put Albania a bit higher, even over Croatia, since they did really good relative to their expectations and only lost very narrowly. I also think Germany was genuinely the second best team in this tournament, and if they didn't tie Switzerland in the last minute of Group Stage there could've easily been a final matchup against Spain.
With their potential, i think that Spain is a great candidate to win the 2026 World Cup, or at least to finish in a good position, such an awesome team we have 🇪🇦❤️🏆🔥🔥
In my opinion, Germany should be at the 2. place. After Spain they played the best football, unfortunately they had to play against Spain too early, in my eyes, concerning quality throughout the tornament, that was the real final! 😊
Entertaining video and I love the mario kart soundtrack, but I can't agree to ranking Germany 5th. If you rank based on tournament progression you might aswell recount all the teams the same way they finished, which would be boring. However, if you count in the performance, you have to rank Germany at least 3rd. They were the only team who had Spain on the verge of losing and only lost due to a not given penalty.
Poland and the Czech Republic should share the same place - Poland had a harder group, but Czechia was striken by bad referees especially in the match against Turkey. I know that it was not only that but still had a decisive power to get Czechia out of the tournament. You can find news about the referee Kovács and his connection to other teams (Romania and Hungary) which got to the further stages of Euro.

If Germany had been on England's side, the final would have been Spain vs. Germany.
It was the same with England at 2002 World cup when England played Brazil at quarter final stage when those 2 team's should have met in the final as back then were easily the 2 strongest teams and Germany got to the final despite really struggling against poor opposition like North Korea USA, Ghana etc

Romania below Denmark?
@@therealmcbong8446 I thought after Romania surprised everyone with their performance in their 1st game, they then were underwhelming and disappointing specially in the R16 . Denmark despite of being disappointing overall, still had 2 good games with much stronger teams (England and Germany) . I thought their lost to Germany was down to those (questionable) var calls and their story could have been much different in that game. Romania didn't stand a chance against Netherlands
@@TheHunter2 Romania did kinda get robbed against Netherlands. The 2 goals scored was because after the ref's bad decisions, our players had much lower morale and led to 2 goals scored. There was: 1 penalty that should've been given, Alibec should've been allowed to keep playing on the goal scoring opportunity stopped strangely by the ref and the 3rd goal should have been disallowed as objects on the pitch playing area (especially when there are 5 to 6 trainers in the 16 yard box and the GK had to kick them away and deconcentrate from the game). You cannot allow goals when there are objects/obstructions on the pitch! Unfair game imo and I think we should've reached the QF (would've lost to Turkey for sure)

As an Austrian, I find us bowing out to the team we beat 6-1 in March is a huge disappointment. How does the "godfather of gegenpressen" fall to parking the bus tactics? Our 70+ years of pain continue. I still have faith in Ralfie for next tournament.
I took the loss seriously because during the 6-1 win, Turkey still had players such as Güler, Çalhanoglu, Özcan, Yildiz, Aktürkoglu, and Yilmaz; a group of Europe's best dark horse players.
For me, you were the best opponent in the tournament we faced, even though we lost 2 games.

Would have been more interesting to rate each relative performance - as seen in the preview pic. Now it's mostly based on where teams ended, while teams like Croatia, Italy, Belgium & Hungary could end last based on expectations (D or F), while Turkey, Spain, Switzerland, Georgia, Germany are all B to S tier based on expectations (in final position, style of play or both)
If you use this metric I also think France is a C and England is a B at best, based on far below expectations (but hard to give lower than B when reaching the final)
Agree

@@michaelgrabner8977 he litterally was just defending, i know he didn't touch the ball but he surely didn't want to foul someone

Entertaining video and I love the mario kart soundtrack, but I can't agree to ranking Germany 5th. Czech player's red card against Turkey is debatable.
100% disagree with your picks. Germany should have been 2nd. The other big teams like France, Portugal, and the Netherlands were a total mess. They only progressed because of the "luck".
ik it is a ranking on how far they got but england and france being in top 3 is so not fair. their footbal was terribly disappointing
