Magma makes good strings for this you can use in both Steel & Nylon. The LA110 Steel Strings have a Traditional Sound but the LA100 Nylon strings do have a mellower sound & also a slightly lower tension so they're easier for the fretting hand. With either of those String sets the Laud can actually be tuned like a Guitar w/ a capo on the 3rd Fret aka Terz Tuning (G, C, F, Bb, D, G) so it's great for playing old 19th Century Repertoire.
