LL solidified his place as the most important (video) taper of modern times with these videos. Nobody (outside of bands and crews) has done more over the last few years to further access and love of the best music on the planet. Don't miss the Jack Straw clip at the end of the Randal's Slave.
If you're a Dead and Co fan, check out estimated prophet at amway center 2-27-18. Was the last show of the "fall tour" after mayer had his surgery and post -poned the tour. The whole show is amazing but man im telling you the estimated prohphet is UNREAL.
Awesome shows! Thank you Bobby, Phil, Bill, Mickey and Trey for honoring the legacy work of The Grateful Dead! Keep on truckin'. Jerry smiles down from above in pride and respect to this timeless, transcending music.
Man, Trey really did a great job for these shows! Great vid, Thanks LL for all of your hard work over the years to bring us all such great footage! Still cant believe this August 9th will be twenty years Jerry has been gone. Peace.
You can tell at 6:32 that trey messed up by dropping back to the f# minor verse but he perfectly fixed his mistake/added tension by sliding it back up to the big g chord.
Regardless of how some Deadheads feel about Trey and the Fare Thee Well lineup, there were several songs/sequences that were fantastic - Bertha, Shakedown Street, Jack Straw, Mountains of the Moon>Throwin' Stones, Sailor>Saint, Estimated Prophet, China Cat>Rider just to name a few - St. Stephen was fucking ridiculous as well.
Anyone know how the lead guitar in this show gets it's sound? It sounds kind of like a wah, but not like a normal wah. There's a bit of a bite to it. You can really hear it in China Cat Sunflower in this same show. Any help would be appreciated.
Bobby had to mess up the lyrics because Trey was up there. I remember when Bobby gave Trey a certain kind of look that I've seen him give John Mayer before.
Some will dissagree but Dead and Company has an even better version of prophet. 2-27-18 amway center. Its so clean and chill yet also Gritty and funky. LOVE ME SOME D&C!!
For 40 years they didn't need a sound damper between the drummers and guitarists. Why here? Great performance tough. Trey's the only guy qualified to play with them.
According to the book "Fare Thee Well", Bobby has constantly been bothered by the volume of Phil's base and demanded these partitions for the final show. It didn't help much, apparently. Bobby bitched more, Phil agreed to tone it down, then didn't anyway
Bobby was the only one slightly off on this one. Lagging on the lyrics and missing his changes. Still doesn't take away from the fact that this one is a heater! Trey is ON FIRE!
Trying to capture the essence of the core 4 playing together I'd suppose... Definitely not a rookie though.. He's one of the most respected video taper of all things grateful dead..
Hes one of the most unique guitarists to ever play who also has serious reverence for Jerry and these 4 and i would venture to guess hung back a bit and let the shows be about the dead and not what he can do with a guitar, the highlight of the runs was the music never stopped, trey let loose.

LazyLightning, the consistency with which you score close, center-stage tickets never ceases to amaze me.
Ohhh this Estimated is so tasty. Your vids are spot on great all the time. Thank you ever so kindly for all the Grate uploads.

The boys had it nailed
Trey and Bob rocked it

zososhep yes thank you
Reggie and the full effect
Trey stops playing at simple parts in a lot of songs. I like the guy but not that great.
These are all great....thanks!
Great footage, and audio taboot!
Thank you
The video clarity is Grateful !!

I think we can see why this great band hung it up. John Mayer is now the leader of the world's most popular tribute band.
Bob jacked up the end! Why am I excited about that?

I love bobby
Trey did a particularly good job on this!!!
...knock, knocking on the Golden Door ......
LazyLightning55a...for this and all your vids......THANK YOU!!!!
I love it where you see all the pot smoke rising in front of Trey lol
Zawak, Thanks,ThatBARNES.
FAREWELL FROM 2020. SALUTES.

envelope filter
A Mutron envelope filter to be exact. All filters do not sound the same. and the Mutron was Jerry's favorite.
Thanks, guys. I'll look into getting one.
Bobby had to mess up the lyrics because Trey was up there. I remember when Bobby gave Trey a certain kind of look that I've seen him give John Mayer before.
said it before, will say it again. Trey belongs here. love Meyer's guitar. not his voice.
Listening again to these shows and Dead and Co. and I agree. It might be blasphemy to say this, but Lesh's playing at these shows was poor.
@@christopherorman5769 It's not blasphemy at all. This was a money grab orchestrated by Lesh, his wife Jill and Shapiro
Did you happen to film bertha? ;)
Trey has some nice guitar.
Trey fucking rips it
NGIYABONGA!!!
I wonder what the rehearsal was like for these shows.
Nonexistent unfortunately
Is this show on NUGS.Net? I’ve searched every way I can think of. Dead and Co,, Phil Lesh and Friends, etc...
Jason Purdue sorry, I don’t know about nugs but You can listen to them on Spotify.
Some will dissagree but Dead and Company has an even better version of prophet. 2-27-18 amway center.

Just listen to the old shit. It's much better.
Whatever.

I have been a Head since 78, however, this video is pretty sad.
slow as molasses
this song is really difficult to play...bass guitar wise....time signature wise.....
Weir forgot the words?
He definitely missed his cue at 6:30
Ever notice how The Boys sound better live than a lot of folks studio stuff?
No shit!!
Estimated should be played in SetII no matter what
The dead don't play by any rules.
This is just really sad.
6:34ish
Double Dee Tee Vee Happy Phil :)
bobby misses the change
Or a happy Phil
+Owen McCormack both
Bobby was the only one slightly off on this one. Lagging on the lyrics and missing his changes. Still doesn't take away from the fact that this one is a heater! Trey is ON FIRE!
Are you kidding me???? bobby is cut out of this.... seriously....Estimated?
+Doug Grove I can see & hear Bob just fine.
3:32 😢 that was hard to see
Don't worry, he does that on purpose
@@SesaFX
Bloody false
@@chucklemuchuckle2170 I mean he forgot the lyrics but he does the stuttering thing to try to get a reverb effect
Great sound but poor poor visual footage. Why isn't the focus on Bobby ???
That says a lot about the person who shot the vid, a true rookie for sure.
Trying to capture the essence of the core 4 playing together I'd suppose... Definitely not a rookie though.. He's one of the most respected video taper of all things grateful dead..
Trey's a #$@!ing mouth breather if there ever was one. That would be some target to slingshot Lifesavers or Atomic Fireballs.
Oy!
Never liked this version. It drags and I don't like the way Weir sings it.
that ending was trash
Must've been shot by a Phish fan. Cutting off Bobby like that is sad. His guitar parts re SO much more interesting than Trey's noodling.
Incorrect! ;). Throws Geoff a tissue*
He’s a wanker!
Trey fans, plz tell me he is much more exciting playing phish, cuz his solo here is flat out boring as hell.

@@faretheewell3711 spot on. He even said after this that he was nervous to overplay
