Here's what some icons have to say about the book!!!
Ice-T: "Respect to Soren Baker for documenting the history of gangster rap in these pages. Some hate it. Some love it. But you can’t deny its brutal, hardcore honesty."
The D.O.C.: "History has so often been written by the victors, that you very rarely ever get the real story behind anything. So it’s really important to hear from the people that were there, which is exactly what Soren Baker shares in this book. He writes about it and he’s honest about it."
Xzibit: "Hip-hop changed the world. Gangster rap changed the narrative, and then changed the world again. Soren Baker has been a very integral part of documenting hip-hop on the West Coast for as long as I can remember. I don’t think anybody is more qualified to write this book."
Leslie “Big Lez” Segar: "Soren Baker has changed the perspective of gangster rap by putting his pen to paper. He has given hip-hop power, proven its potential, and made non-believers contemplate all of its possibilities. The truth in his writing leaves no stone unturned, something he's done again with The History of Gangster Rap. Soren doesn’t just champion hip-hop. He also reveals its flaws and its truths."

Ice Cube my favorite rappers of all time. Sir Jinx Ice Cube was the best Ice Cube. Death Certificate and Amerikkkas Most Wanted musical masterpieces. I know the Bomb Squad and Sir Jinx both did AMW but the best songs were the Sir Jinx ones. Who's The Mack,Drop a Bomb, and Why they hittin foe incredible music. I love The Drive By too. I love Sir Jinx skits too. When will They Shoot on Predator another killer. Yo Yo make way for the motherload was another musical masterpiece. Man's world 🔥 I love the bitch beginning. He also did produce Kool g rap and Chamber music. I love his work. Sir Jinx The best to ever do it! I just started watching but he needs his respect.

Jinx is LEGENDARY!!! Not mentioned nearly enough in conversations regarding the best and most influential producers. Amerikkka’s Most Wanted is one of the greatest albums ever to me. It had The Bomb Squad and Sir Jinx production! Untouchable!

Ya I saw that. I think it's because it came out as Cold Chillin was going through some rights issues I don't know the details but it might be cause up in copyright again. Plus I know the album cover was banned as well

Too short old school rap but his first albjm made him legendary. He stayed in his lane. The beats and stories. No of theses newbies were filthiee first then short!

I'm guessing you're speaking of the album, "Born to Mack." I also like the three albums he did before that. Everything he did up to the album "Cocktails" are his gems.

I always called cube ( before ironically he did "ghetto bird")...like a bird looking down on the hood etc, he's up there painting a picture of what he sees below..wheres g rap is down there, in the street spray painting his pictures on the walls...something like that anyway!
