That would depend on which platform you stream to. When I stream to LI, I only know who is attending if they comment in the post. The live stream shows as a post on my feed.
Hi! Thanks so much for this video. I'm not sure if I'm understanding this correctly, but is LinkedIn the main platform that is live streaming and then on Zoom you are just sharing your screen of the LinkedIn Live?
Zoom is where the conversation is taking place, just like any Zoom call. The call is streamed live (in this case) to a specific URL on LinkedIn - that being my profile URL. Zoom will also stream to Facebook or other platform as long as you have a specific URL to stream to.
thank you! I wanted to know how to correctly pick the region for my case. I'm in south america scheduling a linkedin live that will stream a zoom webinar. The speaker and most of the listeners will be from the US. Should I go with the US region closest to them or mine?
Hi, I am trying to understand at what point the zoom url link will appear on my event page. I have an event scheduled in a few weeks. My assumption is that I will be adding the zoom link in the final set up one hour prior to going live - is that right?
I'm not really understanding the question. However, this is my LinkedIn profile. Connect. Let's talk. I can probably walk you through it on a Zoom call. www.linkedin.com/in/drkeithmcnally/
Hi Dr McNally does Zoom set up the event as well? Apparently with other tools, should one set up an event on Linkedin, the tool streams through its own event and this can cause confusion.
I appreciate the question. You initially set up the meeting in Zoom. With the meeting scheduled, you scroll down to the bottom of the meeting page, and click on "Live Steaming", then click on "Configure Custom Streaming Service". You input the information from this page. www.linkedin.com/video/golive/now/
I'm not clear on what you are asking. There are two things to set up - Zoom and LinkedIn. You do need to go to the following page to set up the live stream: www.linkedin.com/video/golive/now/
thanks so much for this walk-through video! very helpful! have you found a difference doing this between Zoom webinar vs meetings? Is one better than the other?
Thank you for your tutorial! Can you help me understand what happens between clicking the "More" button on Zoom and then being on the "Go Live" page on LinkedIn? When you click the "More" button on Zoom, do you then select "Live on Custom Streaming Service" and then it takes you to the LinkedIn Live page where you're able to click "Go Live"? I'm putting on my first LinkedIn Live next week and am nervous, so thank you so much if you're able to help!!
Yes, that's exactly right. You start the streaming process when you are in the zoom meeting or webinar. Let zoom start to stream, but go to the LinkedIn live set up page and click the go live button if you don't, LinkedIn will stop the live stream after a minute.
@@DrKeithMcNally Thank you so much!! So clicking "Live on Custom Streaming Service" on Zoom will automatically take you to the LinkedIn Live Set Up Page, or should we have the LinkedIn Live Set Up Page open in a separate window?
@@mckenziechapman1891, yes. When you start to stream on LinkedIn, you will hear yourself but it will be about 15 second delay. Minimize your LinkedIn window, but don't x out meaning don't close it.
Will this work if you're scheduling an event /conference on zoom? So people register interest on LinkedIn and then can see it go live on LinkedIn once we go live on zoom etc.
I understand what you're saying. I have seen Zoom work for webinars. So yes, you can set up Zoom live stream for meetings (2-way discussions) or webinars (1-way discussions). Better apps for a "virtual" stage with lots of attendees would be Accelevents, www.accelevents.com/virtual-events.
Hi Dr. Keith, thanks so much for this. We typically invite registrants to the webinar with links in follow up emails. Do you think we would still be able to do this method and livestream to a wider in addition to that? A little stuck on that part.
Dan, first - thanks! Second, I think you are asking if you can copy/paste the url in an email to send to your viewers. I would say yes to this because the stream page is your decision. In my tutorial, I am streaming to my LinkedIn profile page. But I can also set it up to stream to UA-cam (not shown). You can also use restream.io to stream to multiple platforms (also, not shown). I kept this tutorial basic. For many, this is a good starting point. The LinkedIn set up process is to ensure you are using the correct location and stream key for LinkedIn. Does this help?
@@danevans7500, to be sure, you can always test the idea. Set up the live stream, send a friend you know the stream URL. Then go live and see if it works. I wish you the best.
The process is simple. You copy and paste the steaming information to the Zoom meeting. After starting the Zoom meeting, go live from Zoom and LinkedIn. I do it every week.
Thank you Dr. Keith for this amazing information! It is very useful information!
Denise, thank you. Many people agree with you here!
Thx for sharing this!! 👊🏽🙏🏽 Gonna fo LIVE in LN today using Zoom. Woohoo!

Great tutorial, thank you! Do you have to input a new Stream URL and Strem key for each new live or it is just the first time to set it up?
