This has long been one of my favourite cues from Williams' Star Wars oeuvre. The tutti "wall of brass" at (in this video) 3:09 with 16th note runs is just amazing. This is an *outstanding* arrangement played by two ridiculously talented guys.
C-3PO: “Sir, the possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field is approximately 3,720 to 1!”
Han: “Never tell me the odds.”
2:19 is where its at. The nostalgia is off the chain.
the greatest beat drop of all time
imagine how generous JOHN WILAMS HAS TO BE to even imagine all these parts!
That is absolutely incredible. Wow. Unbelievable. There aren't enough positive adjectives I could use. Stupendous.
As someone with over 100 original Williams arrangements for solo piano on my channel, I know firsthand how challenging this is, both in terms of arranging and performing. Huge bravo to you both! 👏
Everyone... *please* go listen to Brett's offerings. His sensitivity and nuance is unparalleled. Yes, John Williams is top tier, but Brett's arrangement of "Leaving Home" from Superman absolutely cuts a hole on in my heart.
@@AdamBalasis Thank you so much for this, Adam! 🙏
One of the most WONDERFUL things I've ever seen in my life! I cant believe it dont have 9 MILLION views... Ah yeah... Mankind prefers to see that motherfuckin' Katy Perry, etc....
2:19 = everyone's favorite part
Absolutely! I watched just for this part. This part and the almost repeat of this part!
was so excited for it to kick in
Wow. I have no words... that was absolutly ASTONISHING. Thanks you for this arrangement. I can't wait for more from Star Wars. Battle of Hoth, maybe? Keep it up!
Hoth will happen....one day!
Yeaaah, thanks you. Can't wait :)
This arrangement and performance is more truthful to the original piece than any midi instrument could create! So impressive! And I’m also wondering why this doesn’t have more views...
Please play more Starwars, Williams Harmonies are unsurpassed in my ears and Heart!!!
Wonderful rendition! Extra points for using the movie version. One of the weakest aspects of the concert arrangement is that it totally omits the love theme; it was all chase music. It was a very important part to the scene, as it demonstrated Han's wizardry in _beating_ the odds, and it signified the beginning of Han and Leia's deepening relationship.
Right. The love theme is also the deliverance part of this piece, the successful escape and the allowance to finally rest. It brings the chase to an end, which is why it is needed in the piece, even without the context of a beginning love.
Agreed. If you're going to start with the imperial march, you have to end with the love theme.
I was expecting another meh. I was wrong. Well done!
OMG this is so amazing. You guys performed this incredibly difficult piece of musical film art so accurately according to the dynamics and punctuations of the original performance. Mr. Williams and members of the LSO (1980) would be so proud . BRAVO!!!
What in the world, this should have as many views as Animenz's videos, the quality is just as superb!
This performance is BEYOND INCREDIBLE!!
And what a wonderful interpretation!!!! John Williams would be so proud!!
I made a solo arrangement of this during lockdown and thought a duo version would work better. And, indeed, it does. Well done!
Is it possible to get hold of a copy of your wonderful arrangement?
"You're not actually going into an asteroid field!" 💢
"Well, they'd be crazy to follow us, wouldn't they?"
“SIR THE POSSIBILITIES OF SUCCESSFULLY NAVIGATING AN ASTROID FIELD IS APPROXIMATELY 3720 TO 1!”
Jo H. ”Never tell me the odds”
**fucking dies**
They'd be crazy to follow us, wouldn't they?"
Absolutely epic!
These guys are awesome. Seems that The Asteroid Field becoemes a serious piece in symphonic music... I wonder whether people will still play and listen to it in 200 years...
Wow, great job. Surprised this doesn't have more views
Really Really Wonderful Kevin! Love it.
Awesome!
Thrilling!
The two dislikes come from two of the pilots right before they were blown up.
This is such a delightful arrangement and performance. Incredible timing and synchornization with you two! Only an alien piano virtuoso with four hands on Coruscant can play this with more coordination. The Force is with you both.
Those harmonies, and high and low end...my god, that sound is beautiful
