+junkmode I completely agree and ive been afraid to speak up because i dont want to be mean. The podcast loses some of its charm when Mick is on. Mick is a really nice guy, but im glad im not the only one that feels this way.
+jeenyus720 idk I personally feel like I identify with Mick a lot. Honestly, it's probably a cultural thing that makes it tough for people to like him; I've heard that people tend to have a tough time getting on board with him.
I remember listening to this before going to bed when I was driving through Canada. Like 3 sleeping bags. Middle of nowhere, good times. But also listening to stuff from the past when you're alone in the middle of nowhere is very unsettling it feels like the apocalypse has happened and you're reminiscing about what led up to the end of the world.
46:20 "You know what I remember?" The funniest moment in all of sleepycast, nothing could possibly prepare you for this. So many moments I've literally cried laughing at
One time my girlfriend was laughing loudly in her sleep and I thought she was awake and asked her what was so funny and THAT woke her up and she said she was dreaming she had yogurt in her belly button..
i remember your old podcast about this. it's such an interesting subject. as a vivid lucid dreamer i never experienced one of these until a few days ago but before it got too creepy my mind became aware i was dreaming. spooky you bring it up again.
that thing Chris said about the feeling of a bass drop during a nightmare captures the essence of a bad dream PERFECTLY. I actually got really uncomfortable when he made that noise
I think the worst feeling connected to sleep paralysis is seeing a figure or something and opening your eyes and not seeing it anymore. It feels like your mind is turning into a gay ass Netflix original horror movie.
It's interesting hearing them talk about Cory's favorites being a gold mine nowadays, after they've made some oneyplays videos of them watching some of Cory's favorites. They were absolutely right.
While in sleep paralysis, make the realization that it's just sleep paralysis and you will become relaxed and as soon as you do, you'll wake up. All you need to do is relax. Resisting scary thoughts unfortunately makes them persist.
It's so funny cause it's happened to me so many times that whenever it happens now I just get annoyed cause I recognized what it feels like once it's happening. Lot less scary
I do the same thing, Zach is fucking hilarious. If you want more listen Fall Asleep to Zach on UA-cam. It’s all of the oney plays that Zach has been in. It’s over like 100 hours
Zach mentioned there's a video of a guy burning a house down and saying "..this is chaos" does anyone know what it's called? When he mentioned it I lost my shit
i had a night terror where i was completly calm in the dream, and i woke up in full panic mode, and i ran around like a complete nutcase and i couldnt calm down. shit was lit.
dead end I had one where I was outside downstairs in my apartment complex and my family from Mexico was there and there was some party going on with everyone in my apartment building. There were kids running around a patch of grass and then everything went quiet and all I could hear was my heart beating fast, time had stopped, some weird white blur was around, and some decayed angel with a white robe was slowly walking up to the children and took off her hood and laughed at me whike taking the kids with her
I once had a sleeping on my back dream experience so bad I thought I died. I was wondering through dark hallways with dim red lighting. It was so messed up, I saw rooms of people being tortured and torn apart by creatures and demons. I woke up seeing a giant hornet crawling on my bedroom ceiling
thank you guys so much for the sleep paralysis, night terror, sleep talking, and hallucination talk. this stuff is so relatable to me because ive experienced it all. and i think ive seen the hat guy
“There is the world as tangible as our own, impossible to see, yet unavoidable to sense. A world enveloped by a seemingly unending ocean of forests. Buried deep in that forest, tucked away neatly within a blanket of twilight, lies a quaint little cabin, and in that cabin... is a bunch of guys’ a bunch’a bullshit-r”
When I was a kid I had sleep paralysis almost every night, I almost always saw a huge monster with really long arms and a tiny white face with no nose. I never told my parants because I thought I would sound insane so I always thought it was real. I named it gug.
The addition of the classical music as they discuss shitting on desks is fucking genius. Shockingly though, it made the sleep paralysis stories into straight up psychological horror.
Night Terror episode, probably not the best thing to listen to while laying in bed at night :s But for real though, I love when they talk about creepy shit like this for some reason.
The sleep paralysis and nightmare talk made me think why dreams are an evolutionary advantage. It makes sense to create a world based on your day while you're vulnerable, waking up terrified about a lion you saw earlier might save your life
If you ever have curiosity about sleep paralysis and want to make yourself experience it (despite the fact that it can be very horrifying), the best thing is to fuck up for your sleep schedule for a bit - get very little sleep at night for a few nights here and there and regularly take naps at odd times of the day (naps around 5-8pm was what I used to do). Every time your in bed, keep practicing to pay attention to your body and try to keep your mind in the moment, focus on your breathing, pay attention to what your body is doing and don't let your mind drift too much. Keeping the lights while you're falling asleep helps too, if you are able to sleep with the lights on.
Love how in less than 10 years Chris went from worried about people judging him about his choose of transportation to Wawa to cruising around Burbank blasting fart sounds on full blast in his car.
I've had sleep paralysis a few times. The creepiest time I had it was when I turned my head whilst in the paralysed state and saw a headless mannequin just watching over me. Creeped me out for weeks!

Apparently, though, I wasn’t awake when this happened, and as I walked around thinking I’m awake, I see this giant 8 armed creature with some sort of insects face climb my apartment building. I had a super hyperactive imagination-my mother always said I could see what others couldn’t however-and my night terrors would persist into being awake. My most memorable one was I woke up, looked to my closet door, and saw a mass of human faces and arms reaching out and pleading for help. I screamed for my parents and they sat their comforting me as I continued to see the faces and arms. I still have no idea what I saw or how I managed to form something like that.
I have come from the 1st episode, all the way till now. Myself being an animator, I have used every one of the SleepyCast episodes (and lost episodes) to concentrate on my projects as i work. I am saddened by the fact that i now have no more sleepy casts to listen too.
Dude this video is 3 years old but when I was younger i once grabbed a fork while sleep walking and ran in a circle i my living room while screaming and my mom didnt tell me until i was like 15
This episode was way better than the last episode, the other one got a little too real, if you don't wanna contribute and have a good time on the podcast then fine no one is pulling your arm but just know that it hurts the audience when they see that you're not having a good time.
When Zach went "Bring own the dancing lobsters!" I physically felt the memory pulled out of the deep recesses of my mind. Thank you for that. Also, upload the Gollum girl video for fuck sake.
+Seth Hamilton But he's right. If you go to lucid dream forums, that's one way to get a lucid dream. Basically, you gotta trigger sleep paralysis intentionally and then you sit through the hallucinations and try to relax. What they say happens is that once you go through that wave of nightmarish stuff, you transition into a dream without losing counsciousness and are then able to move again. Look it up, it's interesting.
+BathroomTile if it ends up being some fucking nightmarish goblin peaking over the foot of my bed then I'll try again and relax and see if I get nice happy shit Y'know
After a quick UA-cam search, I have learned that sleep paralysis is one of the most terrifying things I've heard of and I am completely aborting my decision to try it
I was fucked up listening to this and the descriptions of the sleep paralysis monsters scared the shit out of me. I sometimes have extremely realistic dreams where I'll wake up in my actual bed in my actual room, something scary will happen to me, and then I'll wake up for real. Sometimes the dream will loop several times. When I was a teenager I had one where I woke up into my perfectly dark room and stumbled out into the hall and towards my parent's room, not being able to see anything, with a weird sense of weight slowly increasing and making it hard to move. When I got to my parent's door it was locked, and I would feebly knock on the door and scream for them, but my voice was extremely weak. This repeated like 4 times, with me aware of each previous time, and in the last one I was pinching myself, crying, and begging to wake up. Then I woke up for real, and thank God I left my lamp on because it let me know immediately I was actually awake. None of the other ones were that bad, but I've had similar.
