How do you edit or trim a local recording??? I've recently recorded an episode for my podcast on zoom and saved it locally instead of the cloud but in struggling with being able to trim the audio
Can you please address whether to save to the cloud or local - I'm not clear on where to save and why? Thank you for your always clear explanation, Patricia!
I have a friend who doesnt want her face shown in the zoom video. Can I separate the voice from the video or do I need to do that in another program? thank you so much for your video. In watching your video, could I pull the audio only file and just play that?
Hi Patricia, the commands on my zoom Pro when I edit have different commands. After I click on the scissor it show we to remove and then says to click to "add a section" and it then does not let me actually edit the video. I am thinking you can only edit from the beginning and end not throughout the video? .. Thank you Patricia.
Hi Marvin, at the timing of recording, yes, we could only edit the beginning and end. I will double-check if this has changed. Thank you for your question.
I was given permission to record a Zoom meeting by the Board of Directors of my Homeowners Association. The video is over 1.5 hours long and I need to trim it. Am I able to do so without purchasing a video editing program?
Has the meeting already happened and you have the recording in the cloud or on your computer? This is a great question. If you follow these steps to trim at the beginning or end via Zoom, then you don't need another program. If you are trimming multiple areas, including in the middle, then you may need another program. I use CyberLink Power Director to edit long videos.
@@PatriciaRegier Hi, Patricia. Yes, the meeting already happened and I have it on my computer. I am allowed to record these meetings so that I can post them on our association's Facebook page so that residents who couldn't attend can take a look at the video and hear/see what was discussed. However, this one was a long meeting and I didn't think to pause the recording at the very beginning, before the actual meeting started.
@@PatriciaRegier I signed on to Zoom and, lo and behold, my video is not there. It is, however, on the desktop of my computer. So, opening up Zoom isn't really helping me. :(
Hi Patricia. I want to do something different, and I'm not sure if it's possible. I want to host a zoom chat with just one other person, record it, but have the recording only show the other person and never show me... Do you know if it's possible to do this? If so, how? Thanks so much!
Is there a edit platform to take your zoom recordings and edit them more than trimming the length? I want to create UA-cam videos from a zoom recording.
@user-bm8fz4ju8l That is true. Currently, the only way to edit a Zoom video is to trim the beginning and end. Another program is needed to edit in the middle and throughout the recording.
@user-bm8fz4ju8l Here is an older video, where I show the video editing tool I use. But this tool has evolved since this recording. ua-cam.com/video/7qLdn6wkKOk/v-deo.htmlsi=4XFAVIdiucrvYeUq
My local recording automatically opens quicktime player on my mac laptop. How do I edit my recording with quicktime, or what software does your computer use to trim and edit?
Zoom updated their software yesterday and when they did, they messed up the editing process. When I edit the recording, I messed up and I want to recover the original recording in the cloud so I can edit it again. do you know how I do that?

@@lizmorse-chevalier5924 Let me know if the steps help to trim the beginning of the meeting or if I should create a follow-up video. 😁

how do you edit an hour of recording but only want to trim the minute 34.17 to 35.20 for example? trimming does not complement the video. thanks.

Thank you. But this is 'trimming' the video instead of 'editing.' There doesn't appear to be a way to edit frames within the recording
