Excellent, excellent, excellent! I was simply looking for info to improve my audio in Zoom and ended up learning so much more in a very short amount of time. In spite of having used Zoom regularly for close to 2 years, thanks to you, I've discovered useful and easy tips thanks to you. You have a talent for presenting.
Absolutely brilliant! The B roll camera is such a good idea to be a bit more creative, the mute function and the seperate audio files are life savers, thank you very and so much for this!
Great introduction to recording interview on Zoom, thank you so much. I'll be doing my first radio interview in the coming week and this has boosted my confidence in ensuring it'll be fairly straight forward! Now to write the questions!! Thanks agin :)
This is the perfect video. Well done. It was helpful for what I needed, yes, but I'm equally inspired by the organized way you presented it. Thank you!
Thanks a lot for this video, which was really helpful to me today. I may add one thing I discovered: if you record in the gallery mode, you'll get a 1280x720 video as you said. But if you record with one participant being pinned, you'll get a 640x360 video... which is exactly the same size as each window in the gallery mode until 4 participant. So there's no need to record with a pinned video in fullscreen, hoping for a better quality (as I thought): it won't be the case. For editing convenience after an interview, it's far better to record in gallery mode and then in your editing tool, zoom fullscreen on one participant if you want that, anytime you want/need. That being said, thanks again!
Thank you so much I really benefit from your description thanks a lot It will save time and I have discovered new features. Can you create another video how can I transcript the audio and then analyze it
I am so glad I found your tutorial. I am going to be producing a series of promotional videos beginning next week and due to the pandemic, we must record all of the testimonials remotely. We are using Zoom, of course, and I've never recorded interviews in Zoom. Our interviewer will not be in the videos, and the "record a separate audio file for each participant" is exactly what we need. I am editing in post in Camtasia, but I may throw all of the audio into Auphonic first just to create consistent sound files, assuming you can batch your audio. Thank you so much! I will be sure to subscribe to your channel ... I may need more help on this project.
I have watched your video a few times. Thanks for recording and sharing this video; it is very informative. I am planning on using Zoom to video and audio tape interviews for my research project. I am fearful that I am going to mess something up. How do I get my audio recordings from Zoom to Audacity?
Thank you Jane!!!! Excellent content.. I have been interviewed a few times through zoom and my audio is awful! I know now what to request from the interviewer next time.
Thank you! This was a great video! I am new at this and your instructions were so clear and so to the point. I am encouraged to give it a shot at interviews!. thank you again, Jane.
This was a great video, thankyou so much. Can you please do a video on: The process for Editing the zoom interview, and adding the 2 separate speakers audio files into filmora. Or the 1 combined optimized audio file from auphonic and syncing them. Plus how to add in a canva overlay template with guest names and a title of episode on it, to the video ready to be exported for youtube? What file format is needed for UA-cam and how to upload a custom thumbnail on youtube? As part 2 of the video, How to upload the optimized audio files of both speakers as a audio only podcast version on spotify? So you have 2 completed podcast files uploaded to both platforms? This would be very helpful.
I'm glad you created a chapter about the video resolution. It was driving me mad that my video files were being recorded at 25fps despite my Logitech C920 having a default setting of 30fps. You clarified for me that 25fps is a FIXED resolution - however their documentation states that they support getting as close to 30fps as possible. So not sure why 25fps is fixed.....?
Great turorial video, thanks. Just to be clear ... Is it possible to switch the layout 'live' during the recording ? I.e. to switch from gallery view to the interviewee full screen, and back again. (i.e the ability to switch the arrangement from time to time ) I think this is what you did in your demo, but I'm not 100% sure that's what we were seeing. How does recording a Zoom interview compare to something like StreamYard ? From what I've seen, StreamYard also saves the output from all the cameras, so I guess allows for more elaborate editing to be done and choices to be made in post production of the video. So many questions ! But thanks again anyway.
Thanks for your great videos! I'm having latency issues when recording zoom classes - I'm using a Logitech Brio webcam along with my Mackie ProFX10 mixer for sound. Everything works but there is a big delay in the sound. I think it's the camera that's slowing things down as switching from 4K to HD helps, but there's still a lot of latency.
This was so clear and helpful. Now I want to know about recording a big dance class on Zoom, with about 3 pages of gallery view - about 75 dancers. Is this possible to do with any kind of reasonable quality?
Hi, I don't think this is possible within Zoom. You can all individually use software such as OBS, and then connect via Zoom, but record your own video locally then combine it after. That gives a good quality result, but is obviously quite advanced. I hope that helps!
Hi - this was a great video! Perfect. Question: I went to auphonic and was confused by their interphase. Do you have a video that shows how to use their site?
Hi Jane thanks for this great video. Can you please tell me how can I add a custom video filter, ie: my own jpeg branded filter/image box around the gallery view screen on zoom when I am in a meeting? I would like to be able to create my own template and then change the name and title of each guest I interview and have it visible on screen throughout the zoom call. Note I am on the basic free plan amd could not find the add custom video filter in zoom website settings anywhere. Also to create this what file format and size would I need as a standard template for 2 participants on one call? Thankyou kindly :)
Thank you very much. There are two questions left for me. I just didn't get how to record in gallery view in the sense of left - right; whe I did a test recording, the interviewee and I were shown as above and down, not side by side as I had wished. How can I set this? Second question: You ticked "Mirror my video"; when you showed the video afterwards, your video changed not only to the left of the screen, but it was mirrored, e.g., your piano "had moved" to the left. Aren't ther two seperate operations for this?
Hello - very helpful starter video, do you have a video about how to make comments over the video footage? Similar to your red arrows with comments etc. How do I edit it afterwards? Thanks
You can do simple stuff in iMovie. I use Camtasia screen recording software and it lets you easily add annotations. Most video software will let you do something similar.
This is a fantastic tutorial! Thank you! I tried using eCamm Live too, which is fantastic, but unfortunately not free. I think when I have the budget I will go back to eCamm though, as it has many advanced features and higher quality recordings. But, Zoom seems like the ideal software in the meantime! Are we able to use titles etc live with Zoom or only in post?
Hey Jane, thanks for the great video! If I was recording a Zoom interview for UA-cam, and set it up to record participants separately, do you recommend keeping the main combined audio that is embedded in the video file unmuted as well as using the individual participant audio files? Would there be any risk of a synchronization problem if all three were present? If I had to edit the video to remove something, I'm assuming I'd have to edit it out of the two participant audio files as well - would that introduce a sync issue? Thanks much!
Thanks! All the audio will line up, I am just post producing a video, I am processing each participants audio separately, when I am happy I will line it all up with the video, and remove the audio from the video. What you can do if you are then editing sections out is group the audio and video files (in my editing software you can anyway) so that any cuts will be applied to all the files and the audio and video will continue to line up. No sync issues. Hope that helps

Glad it was helpful! Yes, my first one was not my best one either
I don’t even have a reason to use Zoom on my computer but I watched this anyway because your videos are so good!! You’re awesome!
Haha, thanks 🙏😂
You have opened up a whole new world! Thank you!
Thank you. Your video is clear concise , i feel like i've got all i need to start my first interview via zoom !

Thank you for the video. Could you advise how to set up light for an interview
Thanks for the video. It answered all my questions as I prepared to conduct 2 ZOOM interviews for a client. 👍
Nicely done! Lots of great information. I really learned quite a bit! Thank you!
Thank you so much I really benefit from your description thanks a lot It will save time and I have discovered new features.
Can you create another video how can I transcript the audio and then analyze it
Thank you so much!!! I think you just straight up saved my UA-cam channel. thank you again.
Thanks for sharing, quick and easy to understand!
This was truly a very informative video. I learnt a lot thankyou
Thanks for your video. In 2023 is it still the best option to use zoom or you recommend something better for podcasting? Tnx again
Thank you for this video. This podcasting is new to me. Will contact if I have more questions
Thank you. Very clear and educational
Really helpful that you explained why I should record the participants audio separately. I would not have thought of that, Thanks
I adore your voice.
Brilliant work! Well explained, detailed enough and made simple. Thank you 🙏
Terrific right on target as always. I thought I would not bother past the initial setup. No! well worth listening to all. Thanks again
Many thanks 🙏

Well Zoom is evolving all the time ... maybe they will start to support different frame rates for those who have the bandwidth
A really really helpful tutorial, thank you!
