+Sydney Braden At Concert Assessment, it was one of our pieces. If you don't know what Concert Assessment is, we basically go to a different school and learn 3 pieces in 1 day. This was incredibly fun!!
This song was the peak of my middle school band back in 8th grade, pretty much everyone was required to join band at 6th grade, at the beginning we were just trash and were just messing around, but after playing together for some time we became a great band, and for our middle school graduation, Fire Dance was our final piece and we delivered it
In 7th grade, one of the band teachers personally taught me and one other person the trumpet and the saxophone. I went from not being able to read sheet to playing this song perfectly before the end of the year. Bless that man's soul because I had so much fun playing this piece, although the head band director was pretty harsh on us. Still had fun tho
You are a god Edit: I just wanna thank you because I’m an alto sax player and we have a month to learn this before we have an all city concert and this comment helped me so much to see where the measure ends and begins
I remember playing this in 6th grade band. The music teacher was absolutely amazing at teaching the band, and we pulled this piece of very well after only two months of practice. Hearing it brings back so many memories that make me wish I didn't quit the band
So glad I found this video. My band is joining with another school to play this (in a few days) and I was searching to see if we were playing it right. Fortunately, we are. Great recording! (GO FLUTES)
My band started playing this in 7th grade. Due to covid, We never got to perform it. Now, in 9th grade, My teacher took the liberty to re-teach it so we could perform it. I’ll always love this song, No matter how much of a pain it is sometimes.

Yay! For once the second clarinets have the melody....very rare occurrence! (This also happened to be one of the few songs we played successfully under student directors...)
I'm going to be having a band concert in December, and so far this is my most favorite song that I'm playing this year in the 7th grade! The problem is our saxophones aren't very good :( They keep speeding up at the slow part, from measure 62 to 100.
I took a picture of the sheet music on my snapchat 2 years ago because we were doing it for a contest. It recently came up on my memories so I had to look it up. I distinctly remember thinking it was was super fast and difficult but having the time of my life playing it. Now I'm a freshman in college. It's fun to look back and see the progress you've made as a musician

This peice brought me back into music. Though this was the only time this year I got 1st clarinet. But now the teacher realized I am better than they thought.

Pretty easy for brass instruments, actually. A basic song, really. However, other instruments may have a different time, I don't know, I only play baritone, haha.
My school band played this piece at a concert last year along with two other songs called "Korean Festival" and "Marches of the Armed Forces." This was our finale.
I was in 6th grade 2 years ago, and I was in the concert beginner band. I’m in 8th grade now and I requested this song again after covid and I’m in the advanced symphonic band. I got the green light 😏
