The theme this time is TAKIBI Noh. Not TAKIGI.
In November 2021, a Bonfire Noh performance was held at the Ono Nijinoko Exchange Center (former Ono Elementary School) in Miyama-cho, Nantan City.
This is an event in which the audience gathers firewood and enjoys the bonfire while watching Noh performances.
The project was created by Hiroyuki Matsuno, a Noh performer, KANZE-style SHITE-KATA.
He came up with the idea because he felt so good when he sang during camp.
The program is a new work "KYOKA" written by MATSUNO.
It's the story of a country whose fire went out.
During the performance, the audience set aside time to bake sweet potatoes, and arranged songs that have been sung over a campfire into chants and sung in chorus, which is a far cry from the austere atmosphere of the Noh theater.
MATSUNO says, "I want you to relax and have fun."
We will introduce a new world of Noh with a sense of liberation, like an outdoor festival like a festival.
