I have to say I am very impressed on how this turned out. A good friend of mine paid camping world a whole lot of money to change out all is TVs. All I did was take a piece of plywood cover up the hole and then mounted the bracket that holds the television and put the TV up, right on the front of the plywood. Absolutely looks hideous I'm going to show him this video tomorrow and see if he launch to go ahead and redo everything just like you have it. Thank you for sharing this very useful information.
Just what I needed to put a 21st Century TV in an empty, square hole in a 2006 Hurricane. Thank for the ideas!
Im doing this to my rv next week , I think the only thing i will do different will be having the black strip at the Top not the bottom of the tv ,, Great vid thanks
Nice upgrade. I keep my camper At Ocean Lakes at Myrtle Beach, SC. Can't wait for some warm weather so we can get back down there.
Thank you so much... A Great Video. Your video is a wonderful followup for Darrin Nason's video, "How to remove your old RV TV (National RV) Tropical 2008, which is the same as a 2007 Seabreeze. I'll be using both in the coming weeks. Hopefully, my Seabreeze will have something similar to mount to.
Do you have a link to that video?
Love what you did on yours. I liked the faux soundbar idea. I'm going to instead use that extra space by turning it into additional open storage. Handy place for the various remotes. 👌
Very helpful. Do you have any videos for the rear tv?
I have the same Sony DVD VCR combo but I trew out speakers the clip for wire connectors broke and I sold the subwoofer I just got it for vcr part what I hate with DVD VCR combos if goes with ever brand you need original remote to get to menu to set the time and date
Great video on mechanics! Have you done one about the electronics? I have a 2006 Itasca Sunova. Supper beginning for home project.
I did this last year. I pulled out my tube TV then bracketed in a piece of 1/2" plywood that fit perfectly then put on a mounting bracket and I put in a 30" TV.
Pretty dang awesome job! Fit, finish and fab are all better than what you'd get from the OEM. We did something similar in our Gulfstream A but due to dimensions and other constraints didn't look half as good as yours does. Only thing that we could think of that you could of done better or may want to add would be placing a sound bar / speaker with a mesh or fabric cover in that black blank filler panel below the TV. Still.... One heck of a great job.
Great job and looks outstanding. I need to do the same job in my 06 Itasca Horizon. What is inside width of the wood bezel. The inside width of the bezel in my rig is 29.5". The 32" tv's I found are between 28.8" ands 29.0" which would leave a small gap on each side.
You'll have to measure different TV's and you may lose a bit of horizontal viewing.
What model is the tv mount from Best Buy?
I’m really interested in exactly how you connected your dvd/vcr combo to get audio through the surround sound. Would appreciate any advise
Same here! Wanting to upgrade our tv to smart tv but want the surround sound to work with it also!
I want to ask, how hard would it have been to cut that metal chassis down and then cut the wood bezel down so as to end up with a nice flush line across the coach? We have an 04 Monaco and I want to get rid of that hang down box and prevent it contacting my head every time I get in and out of the driver's seat. Well, not every time but you get my drift. I already have the flat screen mounted in there. Done by a previous owner but I'm going to attempt to remove it and cut the box down. Any suggestions or comments? I'm all ears.
In the Itasca very hard. It's built like a tank. I would have loved to get rid of that extra cabinet hanging down but there's just no way to make the trim and plastic molding look like a factory job. Good luck!
Where did you get the metal brackets? Thanks.
Very professional, a true craftsman!
Thank you for this video! Very Helpful!
Very nice job, looks outstanding!
Subbed.
We would like to be able to swivel our tv , do you think that is unsafe ?
No. There are some very robust swivel mounts out there you can use with no problem. Good luck.
I'm currently mounting a 40' flat-screen in my daybreak with a swivel mount.
I'll be making some very sturdy bracing to mount it and plan to have a lock of sorts for the swivel mount.
While I trust the quality of my swivel mount I'd rather have it fixed in place while driving.
40' will be on the larger side but will still be significantly lighter then the original crt.
I would have used an extendable swivel tv mount & made it so that it's even with the 2 side cabinets, that would make it look factory & not have the overhang & more headroom.
That idea of using a swivel mount might be good in the driveway, but what happens as you bounce down the road. Do you secure the TV with a bungee cord or is it secure without one?
Awesome! 👍🤗👍
I think I would have put the 1x6 on the top so the tv would be lower. But thanks, I have an Itasca that I will be doing about the same.
Most sound bars are below the TV so that's why I put it there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Home creepo... love it
the space is valuable. why waste it?
Who else went down their keyboard diagonally....
