What's up guys, Jeff from Sorta Healthy here! Today we'll be chatting about scheduling and collecting payments from personal training clients.
Initially, I wasn't sure that this was a great topic for a video. Scheduling personal training clients and collecting payments aren't exactly the most exciting parts of the job. The more I thought about it though, the more this topic made sense.
Simply put, if you can't get paid or schedule clients effectively as a trainer, you wont be able to make a living. Of course, this is most true for self employed trainers, but much of what we talk about in this video will be applicable to commercial gym trainers too.
We spend a lot of time in this video comparing payment and scheduling applications. Some of the software covered includes Mindbody, Google Calendar, Wellness Living, Vagaro, Square, Stripe, and Acuity Scheduling. We also cover some good rules of thumb for any trainer, when it comes to accepting payments and scheduling clients.
Depending on where you are in your personal training career, certain apps and strategies may make more sense, but we've got that covered too.
Thanks for the continued support everyone! You're the best!

This is literally the best channel for upcoming personal trainers and hardly anyone knows it. Im a little offended I'll be honest
Thanks for your support!
I completely agree. This channel has helped me a lot. After I completed my ACSM and PN Certification I was just as clueless as I was before attempting these certifications. This channel helped me streamline my practices and helped me save time. Jeff you have created a wonderful channel for all of us aspiring personal trainers.
Thx Jeff! I appreciate you and all that you generously share. Your biggest fan in Atlanta.
Thank you! I really appreciate the support!
You are my singular resource for this content. Thanks for all the work you guys put in.
So glad to hear! Thanks for your support!
Great tips! For us experience trainers, these are great reminders to keep on top of.
Glad it was helpful!
Extremely glad this channel exists
So glad you feel that way! Thanks for the support!!
I love videos like this ❤ Thank you for the information! All of these separate subscription you have to get to run a business makes it daunting at times 😰
Yes it definitely can be but you really dont have to have a million different things!
Great info and video, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Wow, thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you
You're welcome!
I kinda like that not a ton of people watch you, but i kinda dislike you don't earn as much as you deserve. Keep going!
lol thanks I appreciate that! For better or worse, there’s only so many people interested in trainer education. I enjoy making the content though so I’ll keep trucking either way!
I'm currently in school to become a trainer. How much do you charge and how do you know when to raise your prices. your videos are very informative. I've learned so much from you. Thank you.
How much you charge is going to come down to a lot of factors including mostly where you’re located and the demographics there, how many sessions people are doing, what your employment is like (are you working for yourself? Paying rent to someone? Etc). As well as experience, how many clients you want/need to make enough money, if you ever want to hire people and pay them, etc.
You’ll need to raise prices to adjust for inflation, your time and experience, bigger studio space, etc. lots of factors here
i’m early asl
Thanks for being here!
Unfortunately this is the most challenging part to me and is holding me up like crazy.
What do you find challenging about it?
I’m wanting to start in home training. Would you suggest having a second cell phone for business?
You definitely could but I would personally keep costs down and just use your personal one. I would just set boundaries on how you respond to clients/prospective clients (ex: if they text you past 9pm, you don’t answer til the next day or something like that).
Hi, what do you think about income of p.t. working in private studio type gym, I have my boss who is getting me clients. What is procentage of price I should be getting. I have masters degree and 3 year experience as personal Trainer. Thanks ❤
I watched your another video and i got my anwser, im getting 33% and im doing more than 100 hours a month. We have big price for my country and im on buisness to buisness type deal. How can i approuch the topic of payment
33% isn’t terrible but it isn’t great either. I would simply ask for a small raise if you feel like you’re a valuable member of the team. If you ask for a reasonable amount, you’ll most likely get it.
Hello can I apply this information to my mobile fitness services
Yes! Most definitely! I think having systems in like some of the things mentioned in place makes it easier for you to schedule, keep track of clients/payments, etc.
