Now I want to pick this guys brain about what he'd recommend for front range trails. Been wanting to try these, just trying to decide which rear to run. He mentioned he runs Xynotol out back, though I suppose that comes down to what front range trails you usually ride. I could see the Argotol being good out at Left Hand with it mostly being steep and loose or colorado springs pink kitty litter, but the Xynotol at Floyd Hill or Maryland Mountain as they're more hard pack, and then White Ranch and Apex fit somewhere in between.
He also didn't mention the price, but I just bought the Trail rated version of the Xynotal & Kryptotal and they were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than other brands. I'm hopeful they hold up well in the Loose over Hard we have here in Colorado.
That combo seems to be the closest to Assegai/Dissector, which is what I run and find it generally does well on front range trails. Kryptotal F/R seems like the equivalent to Assegai/DHR which is your basic do anything combo. Argotal I suppose is like the Aggressor
I've been running the endurance trail compound Kryptotals for almost a year now. I had them on my Giant and now they're on my Ibis Ripmo. They're inexpensive, have amazing grip and roll fast. They also showed very little wear after 3 days of biking in Sedona.
I use Argotal DH Supersoft in the front and Kryptotal-R DH Soft in the rear paired to DT FR1500 wheels on my 160 mm trail/enduro bike. I´m looking to pair up that bike with a second wheels set most likely for example a carbon wheel such as EXC 1501 where I would like to keep things lighter and faster for a bit dryer conditions and longer tour, should still be pretty burly. I´m more or less decided to go for the Xynotal Enduro Soft at the rear but can´t decide what to pair it up front with. Xynotal Enduro Soft in the front seems almost like a downcountry setup and not sure if it would be enough grip? Otherwise Kryptotal-F or Kryptotal-R Enduro Soft in the front for more grip. Do you guys at Jenson have any idea if the Kryptotal-R in the front would be a slightly faster option then the Kryptotal-F? Or would you rather recommend just go for the Kryptotal-F in the front for full confidence and then the Xynotal in the rear for max speed. Thanks,
Many of my rids start on the pavement for several miles before i even get to upper park, that said.. which tires can handle pavement as well without being eaten up ?
I watched it all the way through. Some twice. It was still a good video. I've seen the chart multiple times. It is the same as their website. I can look at charts and boxes all day. Doesn't help me on how they compare to say Maxxis or something else. I can't put my hands on them. Would have liked to see how pliable the lugs are between the 3 compounds. Would like to know how they compare to a dual or 3C Maxxis compound.

So basically endurance = slightly harder than MaxTerra, Soft = between MaxTerra and MaxGrip and Super Soft = MaxGrip. Based on tire weights, trail = between EXO and EXO+, enduro is slightly lighter than DD, and DH = DH

I really enjoyed my Continental tires. They had great grip for my loose trails here in Corona.
Continental needs to make a super soft compound available in an enduro casing not just DH.

Correct, you can definitely do that.
What about the compounds? Would have liked to hear about the 3. Maybe even what other tires the compounds compare to.

Yes, Continental made other tires before they got into MTB, much like Schwalbe, Goodyear, Michelin, and many more.
