I've never seen Josh so nervous before..lol... Awesome job for your first 3D. I'd be scared too!! LOVE your videos guys. So nice to have some humor mixed in these videos.
Great video guys! I think the name Josh was looking for is Wall to Hover. A snap to hover is a snap roll straight into hovering. A wall is a where you are flying straight and level and pull back while chopping throttle simultaneously to make essentially a right angle. Then you apply throttle to hover.
I have found when I am trying a new plane or a faster plane I like to use a long streamer behind it because it cushions any sudden movement and makes it a smoother easier flight
Bix, love the Smith sunglasses! I'm on my second pair of Polarized Gray Chamber Elites. It's sad they don't make that model anymore. Love the Extra it looks so good and you make flying it look easy!
amazing plane and good job guys, you keep producing the best RC videos on youtube. i would buy the edge 540 if they sold it in some kind of RTF version, since i hate building anything larger than 1 foot, lol. come on HK, RTF is the way to go.
@Airman17054 the amount of time in production, they have to make a buck! if you only knew how much their experience and knowledge of video production is worth! if they are putting out 2 of these a week that's at least 20hours of work.. if anything maybe you should click the adds to support their team!
@Airman17054 these guys are trying to make a living by making rc videos. these aren't windows movie maker consumer videos. your gonna have to deal with the fact that this is the only way to make it worth while for them. the equipment alone in production 3 dslrs, zoom audio, boom mic. cost more money then they probably ever made with adsence. atleast HK will send them planes for free for review. probably the only thing they get! it's shitty when people complain about great work. good job flitetes
@stompmaster That's just the recommended kit taken directly from the HK website. What we want to know is what power system the Flitetest crew have actually put into it. Josh hints in the video that they have gone a bit over the top. He also says they will tell us on "the website" exactly what they've used. I'd also like to know what power system has gone into this Edge
Thanks for the review, I have been looking at that plane for a while but am concerned about how much construction work is needed to assemble this kit. So how long/how difficult was it? (Perhaps you could even do a short video on that?)
hi guys, excellent flight with a very nice plane that i'm interested in. Could you please give us the exact set up of the plane (motor, ESC, prop, battery). Keep up the good work. Thanks in advance.
Actually, as a pilot of full scale, people carrying aircraft, I can tell you that indeed, they are called struts. The gear is located at the end of the strut.
@aratidwell It's probably important that their skills match closely to the majority of potential customers - that makes it easier for the viewer to forecast what their experience would be like if they were to purchase the products in the videos.
I'm thinking of making the same bomb drop mechanism seen in the earlier? episodes?.... yh would this be a good idea? do you think it may work if it was smaller?
Or it is just referred to as a wall. No one really says wall to hover. It would be interesting to see someone that knows how to fly 3D fly the plane. It would be nice to see how it handles KE Spins, Harrier Rolls, Harrier Loops etc.
@kpopRC, I was not in any way bagging or discrediting Flitetest. I was pointing out the fact that due to the input from HK the videos do not tend to be as good as they were at the beginning and seem to be advertising HK products. Some constructive Criticism and problems that were found with the plane wouldn't go astray for any potential consumer.
@kpopRC don't get me wrong I am not complaining, and do enjoy most of they make. I was just pointing out what seems to have become more of a common theme in the videos.
Let me clear this confusion up.......Australia & America both have the same terms for the undercarriage of an aircraft. It's called undercarriage. Landing gear is generally referring to retractable undercarriage, the retractable mechanism being the 'Gear' in 'landing gear', struts are found on both fixed and retractable, and as they are anywhere like building terms or engineering terms, diagonal bracing that supports at angles to a load is a brace or a strut, depending on compression or torsion being the active load. This plane has fixed undercarriage, with struts, and the wheel 'pants' are actually called spats. Thats what you will find in the Aviators almanac, and in every training book ever written....australian, american or otherwise. Hope that helps avoid any conflict brewing in the comments section. PS: I miss Josh Scott being on the show. He can be a funny bastard, I always felt he brought the perfect balance to Josh B's personality on camera.
could you fly this plane with a prop saver? because i have a foamy this siz and power and im constantly breaking props even when i land pperfectly because i land in tall grass and soft dirt of farmers plowed fields any info would help me out alot thanks guys
@OuchIAteMyself Dude this video reminds me of the guy in Tulsa that bought a 50cc Extreme Flight Yak and never flies it upside down... Man it is a 3d plane watching some 3d would be nice. Most people that buy planes like that can fly a little more advanced than in this video so I really don't think it represents the average customer of that aircraft type.
Good advertisement! We want to hear about what is wrong with parts of the plane and what you didn't like about it, no plane is ever perfect. The problem about you being sponsored by HK is that A) almost all of the reviews are HK orientated B) all the HK sponsored reviews are more like advertisements therefore should be called advertisements. Don't get me wrong HK have their place but i would like to see other stuff being REVIEWED and even when you do HK product how about a nice REVIEW.

Wow great landing around the barriers! Nice flying as well. Thanks for another great vid!
Flute test inspires me thank you hope u guys the best of luck great work👍
Best show yet and I'm not even that into 3d planes. Keep up the great work. Cheers
I have found when I am trying a new plane or a faster plane I like to use a long streamer behind it because it cushions any sudden movement and makes it a smoother easier flight
Hi!
Great scenery and nice plane too.
Keep those videos coming.
Greets from Slovenia.
Great job, you guys!
Nice looking plane, looks like it handles good. I love how much power you packed into that thing. Nice flyin btw.
Really nice flying Josh.
I can watch it here in Germany. I can´t believe it! ;)
Another great review. Thank you!

im an aussie and we call it landing gear!
+Reinier Basson Someones getting stressy......
ooooohhhhhhhhhhhh..........
I just got one from a friend so thanks for the video
@vfatnuts Yes, it sounds like your center of gravity is way off. Have you seen the Balancing Your Plane episode?

Nice! You guys are great.
Nice video as always. I have a DX8 too. Are you using DSMX? OR DSM2? I recently upgraded to DSMX and so far so good on my Hexa.
I am Australian and we call it landing gear defiantly not landing struts
Daniel Zanon same. :(
excelent job boys

C'mon you can add a little criticism and hobbyking will still like you
I like!
good work guys

Birds.... I got got birds. My new excuse to get a new plane. Thanks joshes
hi guys, excellent flight with a very nice plane that i'm interested in. Could you please give us the exact set up of the plane (motor, ESC, prop, battery). Keep up the good work.
Thanks in advance.
nice flying :D
this plane looks pretty sick
You forgot to say what motor and speed controller you installed on it! May we know what are those, please? Yes, exactly those you used for this video!
Gotta give him props
Daniel harman: I see what you did there. 😂
I would like to see some more of these reviews about electric 3d/patern planes.
Actually, as a pilot of full scale, people carrying aircraft, I can tell you that indeed, they are called struts. The gear is located at the end of the strut.

I really like your shows guys, but that plane looks more like an Extra 300 to me instead of an Edge... Don't you think?
Keep those shows coming!!!
Nice video as usually. However if it's a review, I'd like to hear also some cons. Now it's more like infomercial.
Does HK have a combo kit with everything but the TX & RX?
nice plane bro! can i combine 2 30amp esc and run it as 60 amps bro? will it work? need help
What beach? Looks like Dana Point but from 30 years ago. Oh the long relaxing slope soaring days of fun gone by.
Great show guys! What motor are you running in it? I can't find it in the description.
Nice job.
I'm thinking of making the same bomb drop mechanism seen in the earlier? episodes?.... yh would this be a good idea? do you think it may work if it was smaller?
Hey guys !
Could you put a link to everything you put in the plane?
esc, motor, lipo and servoes ?
thanks for greats videos btw :)
Hey you are flying in San Pedro, If you want to fly in San Pedro again we have a nice huge soccer field and a big parking lot we use for a runway
That looks like Catalina island on the horizon so I would say it's more near Palos Verdes
Nope San Pedro,
Or it is just referred to as a wall. No one really says wall to hover. It would be interesting to see someone that knows how to fly 3D fly the plane. It would be nice to see how it handles KE Spins, Harrier Rolls, Harrier Loops etc.

Beast aircraft
Why HK removed this plane from stock? :(
that is not cheating. if teacher can do it then so can Josh Scott. lol. keep up the good work. ✌
Oml
Back when carbon fibre was still really new
I can’t believe how cheap it’s become
It’s amazing
I also love how streamlined FPV has become since these older episodes were made.
do you recomend getting in to 3d flying?
never flown 3d...5 seconds later doing a perfect knife edge then inverted low pass
Lol
+WwWWWwwwWwWwWwwwwww I wouldn't really consider a knife edge or inverted 3d. It's really more just general sport flying :)
Hitting the 10 minute mark before it was popular
We call then Landing Gear over here!
i need the parts list for the EDGE540 please the bigger the better!
what parts do you need? motor? esc? battery? servos?
i have an 870kv g25 turnigy motor
60amp esc
regular 9gram servos
2200-4xxx 4s battery

you know he said HERDING, not HURTING right? no rc pilot (other than those in texas) would ever want to hurt one of our flying bretheren.
Am I the only one that picked up JScott was trying to think up every 'cool' word of the 90s? :P
that's not cheating. hey you got to get you're info from somewhere. lol. guys keep up the good work.
** My bad, hey flitetest, what esc would you recommend for a 3d plane
Were any birds hurt in the making of this video???? LOL....
lol...we call it landing GEAR or fixed undercarriage down here boys... Love your videos !!!
May I ask what is the distance of the hull (bottom) of the plane from the ground from the front two wheels?
did you used expos or duelrates ?
what should the cg be?
What does it mean by 3D plane? I'm new to planes.
Just a stunt plane
Basically has enough power to fly below stall speeds while still maintaining control.
What is this background music in the intro?
could you fly this plane with a prop saver? because i have a foamy this siz and power and im constantly breaking props even when i land pperfectly because i land in tall grass and soft dirt of farmers plowed fields any info would help me out alot thanks guys
Flite Test! Please tell us the specs that you put in this thing! I am very interested in building one and would like to have similar specs :D
can you do one on a yak 39" i keep on crashing mine.....It goes about 5 feet up and then it nose dives in the ground >>>>
@nighthawk0077 CG is correct in the instructions
I WAS GOING TO GET THIS, BUT THERE ARE NOOO REPLACEMENT PARTS..... SO I GOT 3DHS 48 EDGE
@OuchIAteMyself

Ive never flown a 3d Airplane....
...
3d is something ive taken on new this year..
Muy bueno espectacular .
what setup are you running?
I think that would be a cool plane to put a gyro on!
who's that blondie?? nice plane btw, similar to my Multiplex AcroMaster
hey do i choose a 30c or a 35c Battery?
Hi Starsky & Hatch
With this hatch clip the you might loose the name Hatch.
Little corona in Corona Del Mar?! Haha I live in Newport. Harbor view elementary would have been a better venue
mid wing are easy to fly love my yaks and sukois
@lolziloveminecraft I knw you are asking someone else but 3D means you can do AMAZING stunts e.g. walls,knife-edges ect
I recommend a 60A ESC
Wing span is lenght of the wing
sweet
Actually landing struts would be appropriate here in the states.
you guys just stumbled upon a radical concept - fill a plane with helium to save weight.
So many planes and stuff are out of stock this is really frustrating.
That's it,I'm ordering one along with the dh vampire....hiding it from the wife will be an issue however....
Yeah... We Australians call them landing gear too...
yeah we call them landing gear as well buddy.
Good advertisement!

This is in pv I live there right by where they flew this plane
+APMB APMB I live right below ladera linda
@teddy, i started out on a 4 c
Seems like the right wing needs some shrinking on the filmcover.
