I’ve never played Gloomhaven, though I’m quite aware of it. I backed Frosthaven with some hesitation due to game play complexity/weight. I learned of JotL through the Frosthaven campaign so I picked up JotL from my local game store. I just played scenario 1. The tutorial (baby steps approach) is very helpful and new gamer friendly. This video helped with double checking my understanding, which was correct. Can’t say enough good things about the tutorial and look forward to the next 4 scenarios to get me prepared for the more immersive experience. Thanks

This comment is for Paul. You did a presentation once called “How to Teach Board Games with Gaming Rules!” in which you explained your unique method for teaching board games, which you titled “The Gaming Rules! Interactive Drip Feed Method.” It appears to me that that is what Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion does for people completely unfamiliar with Gloomhaven. Would you agree?

Pretty sure all seasoned GH players have their own "initiative lingo" which while not being numbers is pretty equivalent - "extremely early, very early, early, earlyish, not that early, somewhat late, a bit late, very late" :)

I prefer the tried and true, “on a scale of 1-100 how would you rate your initiative?”.

We use "Dakota Fanning-ish", "Betty White-ish", etc.

Looks like a great way to learn the GH 'system'

Was muddle supposed to go away after the raider had it's turn, since it was applied before the turn @34:30? Conditions always confuses me on when it goes away or stays till the next round, and this goes for all games that uses conditions, sword & sorcery for example.

Nice play through, looking onwards in the campaign is there enough for people who own gloomhaven to buy this also?

Target failed miserably at getting and stocking this game. I live about an hour outside of Philly PA and there are several hobby stores within 10 minutes of where I live. My local Target store didn't even know what I was talking about almost two weeks after release and the floor clerk finally found the item in his handheld inventory tracker and said that one store 50 minutes away had one copy. He said that this store, my local store, probably wouldn't get any.....what?!? What's the point of having exclusivity if you aren't even going to stock it? So I had to race home and hope that one copy was still available and purchase it online before I drove 50 minutes each way for nothing. Luckily, the copy was there, I purchased it online for store pick up and took the drive the next morning. I essentially drove by about 5 Target stores to get to the ONE that had the game. Not because they sold out, but because those stores chose not to carry it. I don't know why Cephalofair games didn't let the locally owned small business Hobby shops have first crack at selling Jaws of the Lion. It could have been a Grand Launch by having open the box parties and immediate play throughs. Targets debacle at stocking and displaying this game probably stunted growth opportunities for this launch. I'm glad that I got my copy, but the guy after me is screwed......

Another video added to the watch queue - would you recommend this to someone who owns Gloomhaven and has failed to get it back to the table?

This is very cringe to watch. The narrator is way more into it than Isaac and Isaac just seems like he doesn’t want to be there. Almost as if he’s had enough gloom haven for one man. Narrator starts off telling Isaac his house rules which results in an awkward “okay”. I feel like this was a missed opportunity. Isaac does get a bit more into it a little over half way through.
