I've heard that and I'm not Catholic. What I want you to know that is hidden from your knowledge is this. When the Pope says that they will be in subject to God is true. They must be asked if they Know Jesus? We have ET's and then we have Spiritual beings that we see more of.

The Vatican vault is one of the oldest repository of knowledge. If aliens have been around for thousands of years, they have some artifacts in there.

Yes, they can’t contain the flow of information anymore, the real reason they are doing a controlled disclosure is the development and release of artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence is going to accelerate the growth of technology. At an exponential rate, we have already had exponential growth in technology, but with artificial intelligence, it’s going to accelerate to a at an even higher rate, that’s inconceivable to us right now.
We’re going to make more progress in the next 25 years then we have in the last 6000.
Also, artificial intelligence will make it impossible to release false information
Beyond that, they need to get us used to extraterrestrial life because we are raising up a level as a species.
In the coming decades, we are going to have a greater function in the hierarchy of beings that inhabit our universe.

I'm not so sure that Vatican said this though, because I only read about rumors of their belief in extraterrestrial life. I couldn't find any facts. And I am pretty sure it would be top story and maybe even breaking news if this was true..but it is possible that it's so new, that it just hasn't been posted yet. I hope it's true though. I am Roman Catholic and have always believed all of what this article said to be true. Always believed that and it was totally against my religion.

Ben, if God created the HEAVENS and the EARTH, it would be normal to think all life in it as well, so no, we who are Christian, don't have a problem with it, if anything, it's self explanatory.
I wish it were as you say, but the Christian folks I know, refuse to even have a conversation about even the possibilities of ET life. They straight up shut down, walk away, leave me on read etc. I have a feeling many religious people don't want to think about it, but it's good to know there are some who do believe and are ok with it. As Ben said, it's a tricky topic to navigate, because some people have grown up having one narrative in mind, and feel that narrative is perfectly fine the way it is, and they don't bother to seek other information or question anything. I do believe that for some millions of people, this is worldbreaking because of how they've lived their whole lives under one belief system that leaves no room for things like ET's or inter-dimensional beings except Angels and Demons.

It seems I've come across more Christians who interpret aliens as fallen angels or demons, so I'd say you're in the minority when it comes to this type of thing. Also, the earliest idea within the church is that humans are the pinnacle of the universe, but how is this reconciled now?

Sorry y’all. I’m a Catholic theologian. I don’t buy this article for a minute. There may be some rogue people proposing all these things, but a lot in the linked article/post is not going to be Church teaching. That being said, the existence of extra-terrestrial intelligent life already wasn’t against Catholic doctrine to begin with. See the theologian Dr. Paul Thigpen’s book on the subject (he was also one of the speakers at The Sol Foundation Symposium). Also, check out Jimmy Akin’s Mysterious World episode on Aliens and Religion. Jimmy’s a Catholic Apologist with a background in philosophy.

Interesting. But please share with us an actual statement from the Vatican that says this. I have looked and have not found any thus far. There is a call for new ways of understanding theology, but so far as I have seen, it does not call for the type of change captured in Reddit, or the Italian article. For more than 20 years Vatican scientists have said that belief in extraterrestrials is alright, but that is not Vatican teaching. I am not part of the Roman Catholic Church, but I am a clergy and a theologian. I believe I would have heard of this officially. Peace

The referenced article is not sourced from any Vatican news release or statements. Doctrinal teachings haven’t changed for over 2000 years.
