I will repeat something I've said many times. I would enjoy long-form footage of you just building a large Lego set, doing whatever you normally do when assembling Lego sets.

Oh man...I love that we see....really old looking builds with these kinds of sets...like....the minifigs alone hit you with nostalgia...but that crappy little spaceship with that weird seat piece and the front prong "Guns".... really hits that nostalgia button
They're based on 885 and 886. They're almost direct copies except of a couple of colour changes and a few missing bits.
I like to call the little robot 10-E because it matches with the other names
I like it too, both the robot and it's name but Dan is right, it isn't a minifigure, so I can understand his viewpoint.

I don't think I have any that are an exact match for Benny, but I have about 30 of these old space guys, and scratched logos are common.
Don't have any broken helmets though.
Yellow and Blue were the two most common colours, there were sometimes others, but they're a lot less common.

I went to buy this set and it was sold out as soon as it went on sale. I mean, I already have all the original minifigs of this type (and two Bennys), but I really wanted the Pink one. I was pissed off I missed out on Green a few years ago, so hopefully this gets back into my life. Also; that detector is missing its peg on the top of the disc. I wonder if they scraped the original mold.
They're in like one scene. It's a musical number.

Sets like this kinda weird me out.
I actually own a LOT of 80's and early 90's lego, and a good fraction of it is space lego.
And this early 80's space stuff that this set represents? Yeah, got a ton of that. 3-4 spaceships, a moonbase, and about 30 of these figures.
What weirds me out about sets like this is how they somehow manage to make things that are very authentic on some level, yet just kinda... Wrong on another.
Benny I'll ignore, but the little flying thing is accurate, the minifig design, the seat, that little tool with the green round brick on the end...
The shade of grey used almost certainly isn't right. (they changed greys somewhere in the early 2000's. There's now also a dark and light grey, but the medium grey while in the same ballpark as the old colour is actually slightly bluer, where the old one leaned slightly greener.)
And then there's the pink figure - that definitely wasn't a thing back then. Those early Space figures were mostly yellow and blue, with the odd very rare red or white one sometimes.
More generally lego really only came in a handful of colours until, with the range widening very gradually during the 90's and exploding massively during the 2000's...
But for the early years up into the late 80's you pretty much had red, yellow, blue, black and white as common colours, with green and grey as rarer ones. Anything else was pretty much unheard of. The earliest diversions from this were pink flowers, and some other pinkish tones from some early 90's sets vaguely aimed at girls that had some kind of island resort theme going.
Finally, in what I can only describe as a really weird kind of slap in the face - the metal detector piece... I mean, I've got dozens of these in black and grey, and this...
Is definitely not an authentic piece. Which I really don't understand why they'd do that.
It means they needed a new mold, yet couldn't be bothered to get it right.
It looks the part at the top, but the scanner half at the bottom is now a featureless disk?
The original metal detector piece had a stud on the top and a socket on the bottom of this part, with a hole through it for good measure.
This... Somehow just really manages to weird me out with the mix of authenticity and yet random weird changes.
The (false?) rumor was that LEGO didn't want black, green, brown, because they feared kids would build military non-happy stuff. But we did anyway. Those walkie-talkies were soon placed on edge like rifles in the hands of the space soldiers and the megaphone became a bazooka. I was much inspired of the french animation Once upon a time - space, and rebuilt my LL928 into spaceships from that. Sold all my 80's LEGO to buy the new Amiga 500 and decades later regret it much. Benny is pretty much spot on with my experience as a child, with broken helmet and worn insignia. I also remember the metal detectors as having stud, after seeing my kid's Volcano explorer kits with flat detectors.
For a second I thought Dan had finally started buying retro sets!

I was watching a cooking video, youtuber said it was demonetized because he said White Pepper, when he changed his video and said Privileged Pepper he wasn't demonetized. Fun world we live in now.

Demonitization is usually done through A.I. and stuff. Judging by the quality of the UA-cam subtitles, their A.I. isn't very good at recognizing words.

I really can't see mini figs as worth anything nowadays. Especially with that little detail and just a color swap, this feels like a rip off to me. I'd rather have two figs and a rover that can fit them both or something idk.
Fantastic set...and a tragedy that in 2019 a name of a color is politically incorrect :/ we degenerate further as a society every single day.
Polish English - I think it was more the inferred ‘white power’ reference.
I'm going to call my whites white and my blacks black. I'm having enough of a time trying to get aligned with the metric system, for gawd's sake. Those terms (along with lights and darks- OMG) go with photography and basic art.
As for the society degenerating- It's past the 'ing' part. We're at 'ed', and just sliding down a greased pole at this point.
