I love the X-Men they are the greatest superheros group of all time thanks mike
No need to apologize to me, brother. I love the X-Men! Awesome books, and I really love that lunch box. Thanks for sharing, Mike!
Good finds. Love your family supports your hobby and doesn't make fun of you for it.
Love that Magik first appearance. Good haul man!
The music and browsing at the start is fantastic footage, good job
There are only a handful of people I subscribe to who I generally get excited to watch their videos. This chanel is one of them. Great pick ups!
I love to watch your videos it really makes my day when I see that you made a new video dont stop making amazing videos thank you
Thank you! I’m having fun and have no plans to stop soon!
You have the biggest selection of comic books 📚 to pick I wish I could see 👀that many
Fantastic stack of X-Books, this place looks amazing!
Man I love this oldies of Xmens and its hurting my eyes they are not boarded! But that wass an awesome haul! 😍
I would say that X-Men 139, 205, and 207 are some of my favorite covers in the series.
wicked, glad you got some boards in those bags haha
One of my favorite shops out there!
Great haul!
awesome haul loved it
Awesome comic book shop
'Great scott, some fantastic finds!
I got that same 100 Comics Book for Christmas. Love X-men.
Another great video Mike. Thank you. Wolverine cover the best.
The 80’s vibe from the music is great too since the shop’s name is a Smiths song and the books are from the era!
Glad you noticed, I tried to find something suitable!
That's Entertainment is a great store, been while since I've been there. As some one who collects and plays retro video games and likes comics it a great place. You got some great books.
Uncanny 205, nice! I think this is one of the greatest single issues of X-men. Certainly one of the best drawn! incredible work by Barry Windsor Smith, very nice to have in nice condition for a great price. Very cool pick ups and your Claremont run must be getting nice and tight now!
A Comic Lunch Box for Lunch Money Comics
Great video great deal great gains !
I was at my local antique shop and one booth had 8 books from the Chris Claremont run all for a $1 each. I picked them all up.
That’s a steal, nice job!
Fellow Uncanny lover here, all great pick ups ... my favorite of the bunch is Uncanny 160, I just remember being a kid reading this and being scared of Belasco. If you haven't already, you should pick up the Magik 4 issue limited series, fun read and fits in nicely with Uncanny 160. Great video!
I have a few of those Magik books I’ve found at flea markets, hope to find the rest in the wild!
Strange Academy is one of the few currently ongoing series I collect and read. Great series, and I think you'll enjoy it!
I hope so!
this was a great show !
Got the superhero’s book for Christmas to, half way through it. Love it. Will be picking the others up
You missed that marvel team up #24. Bondage cover! Nice x-men pick up 👍
I read that Regrettable Villains book, it's great, love the D-list villains.
Also on this journey to collect as much Uncanny X-Men titles as i can. Looove this haul! X-Men forever!
I have about half of those that you got awesome books. The 25th anniversary Wolverine is my favorite
Enjoy your weekend buddy
I picked up X men 207 a while back for that same reason. Nice cover of wolverine
I like issue 139 and 205 🔥
No complaints about all the X-Men here! 😎
Been there a few times. Great place and tons of stuff!
Please don't stop showing the X-Men....😆😆😆 I loved this video because I just got about half of those X-Men myself.👍
Great looking store. Nice prices on those books too. My favorite is that 139. Great find at a great price. Congrats on your pickups!
Issue 205 is awesome. Barry Windsor Smith's artwork is fantastic.
#211 has the great border. I loved how they did that.
Your enthusiasm for comics is refreshing. Enjoyed the video.
Nice pickups!!
Great video strange academy is a great series to read 👍
I need to go to that store! Great pick ups Mike!
More great books! Hopefully you eill eventually find a upgrade fir the one book.
Awesome video! This is my local shop, been coming here once a week for years. Found a mid grade x-men 33 here just a few months ago for $18!
Awesome! I definitely got the impression treasures could be lurking anywhere here. Very cool store!
That lunch box is sweet!
Seriously, I kind of want to pack a lunch and bring it to work!
Thanks for sharing your holiday loot. Life begins and ends with X-Men so you could talk about them all you want. I’m missing most of those issues too.
Strange Academy has so much potential! The execution can be weak sometimes but it’s definitely got legs.
Uncanny X-Men #207 is part of the Mutant Massacre run by Chris and John Jr. Fantastic story and art. Nice pickups! Btw, Strange Academy is a great book! Stick with it. 👍🏻
Uncanny X-Men 190-191 one of my favourite stories. Some nice finds and fairly priced, wish we had shops like that here so I could fill a few gaps. I enjoy exploring and browsing.
Dazzler looked delightful on that cover. Id tell you what i think their doing but it's a family channel.
LOL I was waiting for SOMEONE to insinuate something!
Cool comics
Excellent haul! That shop looked great, I hope you get chance to go back and spend more time.
Bring on The X - Men.
BTW, the line on the #160 is a dust shadow or sun shadow. It happens when a the comic was in a stack with the one(s) on top were offset a bit. This exposes the spine to sun/dirt while the rest of the comic is protected by the book(s) on top of it.
DIGGING THE NEW ORDER CURE 80[S VIBES MUSIC PLUS BOOKS
Thanks! Seemed fitting for the store.
What a beautiful comic store.
Thanks for sharing the Christmas gifts you received. Loved all the X-Men books so never apologize for that especially when you are filling in holes in your collection. That's one of the things I like to hear about from another collector
I'm picking up some of these same issues.
Holy Moly what an absolute gold mine of some incredible back issues, especially X-Men. What a great find, I will definitely need to make a stop here next time I'm remotely close to the area
It's also X-Mens 60th anniversary
Great shop. I wish I lived near cool places like the places you show on your channel. Loved the board game section, I would spend so much time researching the board games. That dungeons and dragons was eye candy for my imagination and fantasy lore. Looked like a massive amount of organized comics, I appreciate the organization in shops. I was not interested in X-men comics until I started watching you on UA-cam, but I’m very interested now because how describe each X-men comic. Thanks for sharing
I live for X-men books, probably too much! I hope you give them a shot!
I love the X-Men and have been trying to get a complete run also. Those are great finds in the wild.
Nothing beats a great cover! The Regrettable series books has peaked my interest! Going to have to check those out! Thanks LMC!
If you do find them, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Although I'm going to have to opine that if Big Wheel and Turner D. Century aren't in the Villains book, it's not worth the paper it's printed on, lol.
@@hermbolt1 Not sure about Big Wheel but Turner D. Century is definitely in there!
Those regrettable books look cool
That store looks awesome, and prices looked good even without the discount. Chicago is a great place but not necessarily for deals. Also it’s cool your family got some great gifts! Keep searching!
Nice looking shop
LMC Mike's got another video! I love it. 😃 X-Men? Did you say "X-Men"? I'm all in. Looks like a fantastic store. You folks up there in the northeast have *way* more sources than those of us in southern Indiana. 😏
Loved the 139 with Kitty. It's nearing the end of John Byrne's run so that's my fave. Mike, I saw you ran through a couple of Marvel Team-Ups. Assuming you know that Byrne's first artwork of the X-Men was MTU #53 with Spidey and the Hulk? Awesome book!
Oh, lastly, is that The Cure for your music? Doggone cool, man! You make this sixty-something feel like a kid again. (Pffft, I'm older than your parents!)
Great observation, I was looking for Marvel Team up 53 and 65 (first US Captain Britain). And no that wasn’t the cure, just royalty free music that sounds A LOT like them. Seemed fitting for the vibe of the store.
One of those covers was particularly familiar to me. I had a short letter printed in #154.
No way! I’ll check it out!
@@lunchmoneycomics By the way, you've come up with a good approach for a channel. Allowing the viewer to be with you as you search through boxes of comics and showing real world comics that are more affordable for most collectors to get. *The first letter I got printed was in Iron Man #133. I was extremely excited to have it printed and I was commenting on the famous storyline where Tony Stark becomes an alcoholic. They used the classic cover "Demon in a Bottle" on the letters page where my letter was printed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demon_in_a_Bottle
I’ve been collecting comics off since 1986 and I surprise myself in that I don’t own ANY X-Men books. I should really start checking those out.
The Claremont years (17 years worth) are some of the best comics ever written (IMO), definitely check it out!
Wow, this is amazing. I wish we had that many comics in Sweden. Marvel hasn’t been published here since 2012 or something like that, and that was after a couple of years with “just” spider-man.
Wow, I had no idea. So if you wanted to collect marvel comics in Sweden, what do you do?
love that lunchbox. Reminds me of my childhood been born in 1979 lol.. I am also trying to complete my uncanny x men run great pick up!
What fantastic comics and fantastic Christmas gifts, Mike. I have the Regrettable Heroes book, halfway through, and yes, there sure have been some characters where I just thought, "Who could possibly have thought that this would make a successful comicbook?". There are several issues of Uncanny X-Men drawn by Barry Windsor-Smith which I kept when I sold my collection decades ago because I just love his work, everything from late Silver Age Avengers through Conan The Barbarian #1 to #24 from the 1970s to Rune at Malibu Comics in the 90s. And of course I highly recommend his Weapon X story from Marvel Comics Presents. Have fun reading the X-Men issues.
Cool video games
I go to the one in Fitchburg, MA but it’s way smaller. I haven’t been there in like 24 years or so. I’ll have to go there on new comic day in the near future.
Yeah they have a lot less comics there, pretty impressive retro video game selection though.
We go to Brimfield each summer and stay in Worcester (Woosta?) and haven't heard ot that place. Definitely will be heading to it one evening. It would be great to bump into you at either place. Happy hunting!
I think “Wista” is the closest approximation. If you see me don’t hesitate to say hi!
Great sets of books! Nothing like walking out of a comic shop with an armful of stuff you've been looking for. If you're ever in Cambridge be sure to check out The Million Year Picnic in Harvard Square. It's the second oldest comics specialty store in America. And also the site of my first job (while i was still in grade school!) back in the mid 70's.
Thanks, I work in Boston often so I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in town!
In the late 90's early 2000's I could still find many of the post-Bryne X-Men issues for a dollar each it's just a tad pricey buying comics today at $5-$7 dollars.
My Man!! Glad to see you made your way over there! Too bad you only had 30 min but no doubt you got a good day to go during their Christmas Sales. You should definitely go back as over by the new release section, they do have have long boxes of cheap discounted books and even some full runs. Fun fact, That's Entertainment was the store that I was able to pick up a few copies of Strange Academy #1 (including the 1:25 variant). It has a lot of first appearances along with some buzz about possibly becoming Marvel Movie or Disney + series. Their expensive book wall is always getting updated as well so it doesnt (for me at least) feel stale or boring whenever I go.
Strange Academy 1 is an excellent pickup, it should definitely remain a hot book for years. I hope to go back to the store again next time I’m in Worcester, very cool place!
No seriously lol! I have to know what that song was! Anyway, great channel , new sub.
It’s called “Melt” by Tommy English
I have been looking for ghost rider In my area in GA for the longest but can’t seem to find it anywhere! There it is right in the beginning of the video 🤦♂️
I really liked Strange Academy. I never made the Harry Potter connection but it is similar. But in a very Marvel way.
Iliana’s first appearance was actually giant sized x-men
I’ve seen that said but there’s nothing (in that book at least) indicating the child Colossus saves is his sister. If anything it’s implied it’s a random kid. Was it retconned that was supposed to be her?
@@lunchmoneycomics marvel stated it and CGC recognizes it as her 1st appearance. They classify the Magik 4 part mini series as the 1st appearance of Magik and giant size as the 1st appearance of Iliana Rasputin
@@billstrife nice, I’ve always wondered and I think I stated it as fact on my channel once. But she’s not listed among the first appearances on my CGC graded Giant size 1 so I wasn’t sure where it was declared. Thanks!
@@lunchmoneycomics so I misspoke concerning CGC.Illyana first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975), though her first name was not given until The Uncanny X-Men #145 (May 1981). For the first eight years of the character's existence, she was an infrequently appearing background character known as Colossus' little sister. CGC recognizes her 1st adult appearance in Uncanny x-men 160 and they highlight the wording just as such. So kinda annoying. So the unnamed sister of Colossus or child Illiyana first appeared in giant size and then she has 2 other 1st appearance as Magik and adult Magik
Also I’m the animated series of X-Men 92 they animate the scene of giant size with her featured and called Illyana as well.
👍
You had me at Miracle Man……
That clip was kept in solely for you!
@@lunchmoneycomics Hahaha thank you. I am still missing 7,8,10,11. I was trying to see if they were there. Not too expensive either!
What grade was the X-Men 139?
I’ve heard so much about x-men, where should I start? Should I start from uncanny 1 online and read or should I just read the 50 or so copies I have of late 100 early 200’s?
I just checked and I have uncanny #160! Excited to read that, and also so cool because anya taylor joy is one of my favorite actresses
That’s really tough. Personally I’d start by reading Giant Size X-men 1 (presumably online) and go from there with #94 immediately afterwards.
Hey great channel! What’s that song you played over the video at the beginning? It’s fantastic!
It was just some royalty-free music on iTunes! Sounded like the Cure (it’s not) and seemed fitting for the setting. Definitely a good tune though!
@@lunchmoneycomics dude! I just completely fell in love with that song man lol! Thank you so much!
Definitely sounded like the cure!
Jesus loves you bro ❤
No boards in those xmen books? Ugh
Nope, no boards on ANY books there. A little alarming.
Uggg no boards
Passed on first appearance of cable for $10 ???
I’m guessing it was the second printing
@@lunchmoneycomics no second printing is gold back ground. Red is first printing
@@jayvalentine2046 huh, do you mean on the wall? I doubt I would’ve missed that in back issues or that they even would have put it there
how to tell me you dont read comic without telling me you dont read comics
"I have no idea what happens in this issue"
at least not a single "This will look great on my wall" comment.
This is one of the strangest comments I’ve ever received. You understand I’m showing the books because I just bought them right? How could I know what happened in the book if I haven’t read it YET?
You can’t read something before you actually read it, time is funny like that.
Dude your really going to by all duplicates they have people like you drive me nuts and the reason I barley find key issues
I promise there are plenty more and they get them in all the time. Also… wouldn’t you do the same thing?
@@lunchmoneycomics no I buy one copy that I need and leave the rest for other collectors, I can't find first appearance of onlaught anywhere and it's not even a big key
Goddamn 15 min in a 20 min video just show the comics already
Fair enough. Could’ve used a better editor (me) on this one.
Kevin. Kinda rude. Skip ahead if you're impatient.
