the transition of the edge chamfer into the knuckleguard is superb.
looks like it would be a pain in the ass to do too
It's not really a practical feature though for real world usage. Might help in a movie style sword fight but that's about it. Probably does help with the balance, but not by much. Would be a pain in real world usage because that's bare metal against your knuckle. Would be better if there was at least some binding on it to pad it. If you were to actually stab this into something, you could really mess up your hand if your grip slipped.
That knuckle guard with the sharp 90 degree edges that will definitely eat your hand if you ever picked up the thing?

@@peoplez129 If you break the edges a little it's not really a problem. I had plenty of contact of my knuckles against metal crossguards while stabbing and hitting human targets. It's not an issue.

Exactly. If there was no hammering done in the making of the weapon ... it is NOT Dwarven. ☝️

Agreed. Butterfly fighters 2.0 I'd be tempted to false edge the bottom of the guard.

As a lifelong sword/knife enthusiast, bravo sir. This is a spectacular work of art and very cool design that I really dig. I don't think i have ever seen one quite like this. only thing remotely close is a USA WWI trench knife.
It is essentially a trench knife, yes, with some modification. Good heft and swing, smooth slice. Love it.
