Most of the kayasth families makes it in the afternoon of sunday because busy schedule of sunday morning we also make it in the afternoon of holi festival. After playing holi everyone felt tired so make tahiri because it is simple , tasty and takes little time.

He didn’t make Tahri first of all. Tahri is made in either Pure-ghee or Sarson (mustard) oil. 2) you don’t add garlic but a large amounts of fresh chopped ginger. You also add 1/2 T spoon of Turmeric as well as 1/2-1 tsp of GARAM Masala. You don’t add Saunf or whole masalas. Adding tomatoe 🍅 will make it yumm but little soggy, so you can skip it. We eat it with Red Mirch 🌶 ka achar, papad, raita. Also don’t forget to add a ton on ghee on top while serving. 😋😋
In veg pulao we add vegitables, dry fruits and a good amount of sugar which makes the dish sweet and in Tahari you can see that we add only vegetables not sugar and dry fruits.

Each household has their version of Tahiri. The same with a little difference of ingredients according to one’s taste!
Veg pulav has ghee, bay leaf green cardamom , jeera and no ginger garlic paste.
