Thank you for the video Blimey. The rojak is too expensive and it is not really authentic since we do not add sausages nor prawn into it. By the way, popiah ingredients is not made of radish. The white vegetables is white color turnips. Plus will add carrots for the color and the sauce used is sweet black bean sauce with mixture of chilli. You guys should try ngoh heong/lobak, stir fry radish cake, and the original apam balik (thicker than this with peanut+corn filling oozing out). Just my 2 cents...
hi, in penang we don't call that rojak but it's pasembor. rojak is the one with fruits but its really expensive. you should bring locals next time, bet you can get around rm 10 for that only. also thanks for trying our food!
I am local Penang citizen ,I used to buy at that store 10 years ago ,it was a seafood rojak ,and quite expensive. 1 squid,1 shelless crab ,egg, tofu and some vegetables ,it cost me RM20 ,but that price was 10 years ago.
There are 2 types of rojak, Fruit and normal rojak... for fruit rojak it using the black sauce and served with sesame seed or peanut... common rojak which what you eating in the video used red sauce...
That rojak, is known as Pasembor by the local. And it is very famous dish in Penang. But it is a little bit pricey if you start to put any sort of seafood, prawn and all. But if you chose only frozen things, like sausage etc the price is actually cheap and affordable
In penang, usually they called rojak as pasembok. Rojak with black paste usually is rojak petis (mixed with veggies) and rojak buah (mixed with fruits). Rojak (mixed with mee and variety of fish cakes and fish balls)
You can have cheaper than RM43 for rojak (in a big portion) if you get suggestion from local people.. my advice just get the rojak from a night market at rural area
