I think you should bring a local to accompany you so you get better info abt the foods, also some irresponsible staller have tendency to charge high cost on their product on tourists based on my experience,so if you bring someone with you, they probably won't do it

    • @dylahalid7741

totally agree on this. but if you're local, they even charged you higher if you "dress well" or speak in a different accent/slang. very irresponsible. ;( RM43 for such food is definitely overpriced.

malkor tv they did display the food price. People just sometimes gets angry for no reason. If you don’t like the price you can choose other stall. Lol. But in Blimey’s case they probably didn’t notice the price and by accident they took too much. I don’t think that seller is a con.

The rojak is so expensive, I was shocked too even I am a Malaysian. These places are famous for tourist so the seller make the price much more higher. The thing is more worse when it came to buffet-style food such as Nasi Kandar or Rojak. They can give any price for the food you picked. Someone should really take action on this issue... so maybe Blimey can look for a more local food stall next time!

Im a penangite myself, and I just wanna correct that, that is not rojak that is why it is pricey. Im not sure about other states but in Penang Rojak is the fruit mix kind and the sausage fishball kind is call Pasembor. Yes rojak you can get for RM5 - RM10 (which is also pricey at this range) but that is Pasembor where they count based on the food items you choose. The price range of each item could ranger from RM0.80 to RM 2 / RM 3, EACH! The more you take, they more you needa pay but yeah the gurney drive one is one of the most expensive one in penang, there are cheaper ones and more nicer.

Thank you for the video Blimey. The rojak is too expensive and it is not really authentic since we do not add sausages nor prawn into it. By the way, popiah ingredients is not made of radish. The white vegetables is white color turnips. Plus will add carrots for the color and the sauce used is sweet black bean sauce with mixture of chilli. You guys should try ngoh heong/lobak, stir fry radish cake, and the original apam balik (thicker than this with peanut+corn filling oozing out). Just my 2 cents...

That rojak, is known as Pasembor by the local. And it is very famous dish in Penang. But it is a little bit pricey if you start to put any sort of seafood, prawn and all.
But if you chose only frozen things, like sausage etc the price is actually cheap and affordable

In penang, usually they called rojak as pasembok. Rojak with black paste usually is rojak petis (mixed with veggies) and rojak buah (mixed with fruits). Rojak (mixed with mee and variety of fish cakes and fish balls)

Thats normal pricing for rojak pasembur. I am guessing you took seafood (squid and prawn) thats why its expensive. Locals will be very careful when selecting the rojak and avoid seafood 😅

the rojak store that you went is famous for it price is sharper than a Japanese katana sword....🤣🤣 if you choose crab with that plate you eating now, better prepare rm$100, and by the way, i think the main ingredient in popiah is Jicama and not radish
