My father and I was there at Springfield in 93 (Labor Day), when he was in 4th place and Chris Carr in first, going into turn 3 on the last lap.... Ricky caught the draft and pasted all 3 riders in front of him, (Parker was one of them) and took the Championship, without even having to run the last race of the season. It was the 4th race we had made that year. It was completely awesome! Thanks for post. In 1993, Ricky Graham set a record, for breaking records!
I watch these vids every year. Still remember when he and his wife "kidnapped" me at the top of the Peoria hill but let me loose just before Cameron Lane
Oh Ricky how we miss you. Those of us in the Salinas/Monterey area always felt you were part of us.Your family and the rest of the racing community will miss you forever...Yamaha Bill McCready
I saw him race at the 93 Dallas half mile. He crashed hard in the Harley sportster 883 support race but still managed to come in second in the feature main.
At the peoria tt crash he is laying right at my feet! i was like 14yrs old and they had just replaced the old wooden white painted fence at the pmc track with that chain link fence! alan reed died at that same spot that day!
it was just practice, something was up with the jump that day, it had a sweetspot in it! alan reed died that day crashing in the same spot! johny powell broke his right leg! after that race they grated that jump down so far it collapsed the walk tunnel under it! since that race the peoria jump isn't grabbing sky! its a distance flight!
After watching part 4, I realize I got the order wrong going into turn 3 on last lap. But I do remember, if Graham finished 1st and Carr finished 4th, then Carr could not catch him in points wise., which happened (shown in part 4)
Ricky Graham was one of the best riders I ever saw, if he could only leave dope alone.

I see a lot of people have already thanked for my posting this but I've gotta thank you too. This is a really great motorcycle racing documentary.

Nice video. I always remember his back to back wins at Syracuse when they ran twin miles Saturday and Sunday.
We miss Ricky! RIP
