  • I hate pickles. I hate store-bought pickles. They taste slimy, processed, and incredibly artificial. So I made my own!
    These pickles don't suck- and with one single brine, I can show you how to make pickles that don't suck. You can use this to pickle cucumbers, carrots, apples, beets, mushrooms, and even blueberries. You didn't know that one? Neither did I. I had to try it while we were making the video. All gluten-free! (because why would there be gluten in pickles??) Since there's no lacto-fermentation happening, there doesn't need to be any canning required. The acid in the vinegar will keep them in the fridge for weeks- perfect for a charcuterie board or when you have some fatty pork belly or pulled pork. Works like a dream.
    This is my little cooking series and I try to show you easy recipes that are healthy, affordable, and won't bore you to death.

    Mmm I love homemade pickles! I us the same brine recipe as you. I’ve never tried pickling fruit though. That’s really interesting!

      On its own your brain immediately goes "wait, that's not fruit!" So I'd treat it more like a vegetable or a condiment at that point. Add it to meats, savory dishes etc. That's where I'd experiment with pickled fruits
