Not to worry, growling/extreme vocals are not for everyone. I was not into growling until I heard Tatiana. Tati's vocals grew on me, and now Jinjer is my favorite band. Jinjer has some softer songs, and I would suggest the Jinjer song Begger's dance . The song is 100% jazz.
Same i didn't like the growling or excessive screaming until a buddy recommended me listening to some of jinjer's songs....now they are my favorite band ever 🤷
No need to apologize, totally understandable! Growling isn't everyone's cup of tea. There are a few Jinjer songs with no growling, I'd say try Bad Water and Beggar's Dance (both with no growling) before trying Wallflower OMV and Vortex OMV (both start softer and build to heavier) and then Perennial (live at Wacken 2019). Whether you try more Jinjer or not, thank you for bringing some of Jinjer's fantastic music to more people! ❤🖤🤘
I never cared about vocals in metal, guitar is my thing. Tatiana has made me rethink it , she is in Rob Halford territory. She is a metal god. Growling is not for everyone, I dont like it that much either, but I have to appreciate her talent and her ability to switch from clean to growl to belt, its outstanding.
For a better choice try Wallflower, it's mostly mellow with a bit of harsh vocals. Tasteful and more meaningful "metal voice" added for emphasis. Stay awesome! 🤘
'Wallflower' is a good one, but also 'I Speak Astronomy' (Official Video). The music has a lot of energy but the vocals are mostly clean. The video is also pretty Sci-fi.
Order doesn't matter. You have nothing to apologize about doing "Judgement and Punishment " first. If growling is an issue, that's OK. The songs I would recommend are "Bad Water" (no growling), "I speak Astronomy"(OMV), Wallflower (OMV) and "Teacher, Teacher" (OMV) (less growling). Good honest reaction. (Subbed)
Haha 🤯🤯🤯 every time, nope it’s not easy to like if you’re not into harsh vocals. Don’t worry about it just accept that you’re not keen, if people don’t like that…….. tough! There’s a song of theirs you might find OK, Bad water, no harsh vocals and I speak astronomy which is mixed but minimal growling.
_Bad Water_ is definitely pretty bluesy (actually, every time i hear this song, it makes me want to hear Tati do a cover of _Black Velvet_ ... sadly, we'll probably never get it). 100% clean vocals. _Wallflower_ is a beautiful song, both musically and the video. mostly clean, but the little growling that there is 100% fits the song where it is placed (proper crescendo moment). I totally understand the aversion to harsh vocals. most modern metal these days is all harsh all the time, which to me is actually kind of boring ... "if everything is extreme, then nothing is extreme". But Tati is usually more strategic with it ; i.e., there's a purpose within the song for it.
I enjoy Jinjer and you have played my two favorite songs by them. I love Tati's clean vocals and wish they were more dominant in the other songs they have but her growls attract a large audience and I accept it in exchange for those beautiful pearls. Just keep playing these 2 and then try, I Speak Astronomy, Perennial (Live), Wallflower.
If it's not for you, then it's not for you. The value in Djent metal is in the complex ever changing time signatures. Also, the brutality of the sound, both in the musicality and vocals. It's aggression. "Pisces" is an outlier in Jinjer's music. It's normally a good introduction to Jinjer, especially to people that are not into Djent metal, because of the unusually melodic parts of it. It draws a contrast (what the pisces is all about) and is a good crash course on Tatiana's duality. The thing that makes Jinjer stand out from other progressive djent/metalcore is their exceptionally poetic lyrics, and incredibly tight musicianship...and of course Tatiana who may be the best front person in all of metal, and among the best across genres. Her ability to command the crowd is unmatched. But of course...if metal is not your thing, then it's not your thing. All the nuanced explanation on planet earth won't change that. But if you were to line up Jinjer's music on a scale from most radio playable broad appeal to deepest genre crushing, Pisces is by far the most mass appealing song they have. For me, that's why I don't really care for Pisces. It's too pop for me. If you really want to see what Jinjer is about, do "Teacher Teacher". Their official music video for that is all live footage, so you get a sense of her stage presence, which is by far the best thing about them, and it's a song that is more in their wheelhouse...with singing, rapping, and screaming. IMO that's their very best song.
That is fine. Try Unleash the Archers - Awakening. Female fronted metal band. You will probably like a lot more. As for blues. SRV - Texas Flood live at the el mocambo will blow your 6 string loving blues mind.
not everyone will like growling in metal, for the meaning of the song, its about pisces ( astro sign), and the duality that is the first caracteristic of piscies, and its connected to her, because she is a pisces, she even have ear plugs with fish.
My simple take regarding her "Satanic" voice: If you were a selfless fish (Pisces) who wanted to see the world but was a bit skittish, and then got into the nets and was hooked by handsome butchers who proceed to rip away your scales and entrails (emeralds)... you'd growl too! So you see, sometimes the lyrics call for extreme vocals in a song. Tatiana (who's not singing as someone possessed, so you can toss the garlic back into the spaghetti sauce) wrote an incredible story and sang about it the way it deserved to be sung... as with most of her songs. Some vocalist just keep singing in their nice and charming voice even when the lyrics call out desperation. Not so with Tati. Her extreme expression - a rare ability - adds so much more to a song... especially if you follow the music with the lyrics and how the beautiful cacophony tells the story. Thx, Roni!
OK, garlic is back in the pan. And yes, I can appreciate Tatiana's ability to sing in two different voices, delivering the message of the song even stronger and more powerful. I just feel like it's too much, too soon for my ears. I do want to like them, so I'm going to try some more "easy" songs from them.
@@ronireacts_to_all I'm like many people, I think. I didn't like or listen to Heavy Metal with growling... that is until I heard Pisces. Being a musician, the band's playing and writing blew me away. "Now I kind of like it ...". That ... happens so often. I am not a fan of the harsh vocals, but I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this trying to capture the lyrics. I mostly do, now. Based on reading the lyrics, I would summarize this song as "sympathy for fishes who get caught for human reasons". 🤷🏻♂
