Most of the time it is something that the logic board isn't recognizing as connected. Usually via a liquid spill or torn connection

That is a good Cliff Notes from another repair shop. Good video sir and been in the business since 1996, Gementerprises, but retiring soon. been a good ride, but time to smell the roses. Gary

Thanks for this video. It was very helpful. I had a brand new A1932 where the battery controller corroded on its own in the box from poor soldering / too much flux. It looked a lot like this one you worked on, it may have been the same thing, manufacturing defect solder flux corrosion and not a liquid spill.

How much would this cost and is it worth it / will it viably revive a 4 year old MacBook Air?

I recently helped my son replace the screen on his MacBook Air 2019 A1932 all went well but then as soon as we attempted to power on the battery would not hold charge and the fan was going very loud like the one in the video. Looked on settings and it said battery needs replacing. We decided to buy a used but working battery, fitted successfully but still the same issue. before his screen broke there was no issues with the fan etc. Tested the MacBook air with only the power source with still the same issue (so presumably it isn't a battery issue). Any help on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same issue but it does it when the battery is plugged out from the connection. Any thoughts?

I’ve seen this happen with bad touchpad or keyboard, it’s a game of hide and seek

Yeah, usually only a few things it can be. Most of the time we have this problem it is a connection on either side of the trackpad or power button board. 😁

Twice my MacBook Air has been to the Genius Bar and been through tech checks and they say no issues - this was from the very start when I bought it and at other times still now fan going and heating - I can't do anything at all without fan going and it gets hot - Genius reset it - it's so bad and now I am back to PC hard drive to work on my studies - after years of being a Mac lover I am now leaving you. So off to buy a PC laptop. I do believe this is a secret that MacBook air is a design fault.
