When I was 12 I met a girl 2 years older than me. We became close friends and she changed schools but still came to my sports events. When she came to my games I would always think “ one day I will be apart of her wedding “
2 years later I was 14 sitting in the pews of a Curch staring at the pink flowers on her casket. 30 minutes latter I watched them seal her tomb. The sun shines on her grave through the window in the cemetery 10 minutes away from my house. My grandmother says “ the sun shines on a happy body” that can’t be more true. This was 10 years ago

I'm actually pretty thankful that Lauren shows that she too started out like any other person. It's comforting in a way. I have a journal myself, and it's going to be so sad to read it when I am older. Nearly every page so far (I don't write often so not that many pages) I vent about my bad luck with who I happened to get a crush on and how she doesn't like me back 😅 It's just thoughts fresh from my mind, often during intense emotions, so it does not always sound very sane.
I hope you have fun reading your journal in the future Im very sad that I didnt write a journal when I was a preteen I wish I did I feel like it would be fun to read it now that Im an adult but I cant cuz I didnt write one :(

@At65461when you get to middle school (I assume your not, if you are though when you get to 7th grade) it’ll be a lot easier. You’ll meet a lot more people and have a lot more freedom. You’ll meet won’t have to stay with those kids forever and before long you’ll be more free and you can successfully ignore them by sitting at a table a long ways away from them.
Lauren for the part where your younger self asked the question, I agree, my journal was so bad and I was so depressed when I was in 3RD GRADE. ;-; I asked where babies came from, talked about how I liked a boy a year younger then me, and I'D LITERALLY TALK TO MY JOURNAL HOPING THAT IT RESPOND BACK literally my journal was so sad and depressing ;-;

I filled up like five notebooks a year and I kept them all because they're full of drawings that I would like to redraw someday. I already have drawn a few but I want to draw more. Mostly as a tribute to my past self who couldn't draw what she felt and saw as well as she wanted.
This is basically a YA wattpad story that was written by a 12 year old. It was both funny, amusing, but I could also feel the cringe in a good and positive way.

In solidarity with Lauren: I’m 31 and had boy-crazy phases lol. I specifically remember having a HUGE crush on our 2nd(?) 3rd(?) neighbor teacher, as well as Lance Bass. Lol I had a puppet doll with the No Strings Attached theme and LOVED it of course lol. Kids got married under the slide, remember those bead animal keychain crafts you’d wear on your backpack? Watching this made me think: did I miss something? My childhood love life was non-existent, but I did write a bunch of stuff in a journal. And reading it made me feel, rather than being embarrassed, "Did I write this? I actually felt that way?" as well as, "She really tried her best to write out her feelings even with the simplest, childish words." It made me smile and cry bcs I remember promising myself I wouldn't hate my past self if I'd ever changed in the future. I think I kept my promise well 😊

I wrote about my depression later on but when a teacher found it she reported it to cps or smth and my mom got in trouble (my mom knew about it already though because I told a “friend” about a year before the diary thing and she told her father and he told my mom. My mom started looking to get me a psychologist after the father thing and I got one a few months after the teacher thing)

I need to know more. I tried reading my own diary from when I was 11-12, and I just can’t do it. Another video might give me the motivation to push through it. I wasn’t as romantically spontaneous but I do have ONE dramatic moment where I was transitioning from one crush to another and I wrote things like “I love both of them so much I don’t know what to do,” but that’s just the summary of that situation. The way I wrote about it makes it sound like I was severely distressed by it, and everyone knows I would have never confessed anyways. It is emotionally exhausting, both the emotions I felt then and the emotions I feel towards the same things now are just… (for the “now” bit I mean that some entries are normal like “I got a 100 on the math test today!!! I’m so happy!” And then the next entry makes me want to hide for at least a century to recover from the second hand embarrassment I feel for my younger self)

Two years ago when I was eleven I had a crush on a girl who sat next to me. And, I had some like whiteboard markers that I always had them next to me for no reason. One day one of them fell, and she picked it up for me. So, sometimes I would hold it because I thought it would be like if she was holding my hand 💀
Later, I got sick and skipped school for a few days. But when I got back my English teacher was using that very same marker, so I thought it wouldn't be special anymore and let her keep it 😂

First off you are extremely brave to be reading your most embarrassing time in your life to over a million people.
Second, I thought my life was lonely and and embarrassing but wow. This is very relatable to me. I was so lonely that I went boy crazy for a short time in my pre-teen life.🤣 Romantic dreams that never came true, sad and lonely insomnia nights etc. So I get that. It does feel like therapy to me. To help me understand that I wasn't the only one who was very lonely.
Lauren and Emily made this so entertaining there a great duo lol.
