      I pulled 4 back molars out myself in the past two years Scotty. My dad, Captain Joseph T Baldwin MD (WW2/Korea. USAAF), said, "Barnacles and body rot." The back molars were broken years ago boxing and in car accidents. I also had braces as a kid. The molars started getting lose, and after 6 months of eating soup, they began falling out. Now I can eat steak again. At least they are in the back. Can't tell they are gone really. My romance days are over anyway.....😃

    It's all good oil if you change it regularly based on the manufactures recommendation with your driving habits factored in and use a good oil filter. I still change my own oil despite my age and stay away from the 5 minute oil change shops where the oil is in 55 gal. drums and been sitting there for who knows how long. If you do use them check your oil level, many of those shops will use just enough oil to get it above the Minimum level on the dip stick.

      In my 2022 Mazda turbo, a GDI engine, a little fuel gets in the oil. The main advantage Amsoil has is its longer potential mileage. Since I change oil every 4,000 instead of 7,000, I use the second best, the Pennzoil ultra platinum. It’s good oil and much cheaper than the Amsoil. Oem filter always. Another reason to change more frequently is the tiny oil filter on the car.

      because they have a high price don't mean they are the best and both of them oils are expensive. Change intervals are most important. People want oils from longer change intervals so them don't have to do the work or pay someone at 3000 miles.

    Cheaper synthetics ( group 3 and most common ) are a pao ( Polyalphaolefin ) it’s much more than just refined crude
    Group 4 and group 5 synthetic is HC ( hydrocracking ) the made from natural gas like penzoil
    Synthetic oil has been used since the world war , amsoil just was first to the market in 1972

    • @429thunderjet2
      @429thunderjet2 2 місяці тому

      Group I & II are conventional refined petroleum oils.
      Group III is a highly refined hydrocracked petroleum base synthetic, its the cheaper stuff.
      Group IV is polyalphaolefin, Group V is esters, glycols & others that don't fit the other groups. Group IV PAO is a true chemically synthesized man made from the molecule up synthetic oil. With a correctly formulated additive package It's the good, no no its the best stuff! The API rating is no big deal, it's just a minimum spec.
      A premium oil Like AMSOIL was the first API qualifed synthetic and is still the best and is way beyond better than any API specs and performance.
      I believe Pennzoil's GTL, gas to liquid, is a group III base, correct me if I'm wrong.

    don’t go too cheap on oil. A quality synthetic changed whenever your oil analysis results tells you to (the point at which wear metals start to accelerate in quantity + oxidation value rises) and you’ll be fine.

    • @Bill-tz3wg
      @Bill-tz3wg 3 місяці тому

      And what's that analysis which yields the observation that oxidation value and metal wear have reached the point at which the oil needs to be changed. Generic conv oil
      Every 6000 miles
      400000 miles
      No scored cylinders, burnt valves, bearings or collapsed rings.
      I have a Honda CB with no oil filter. Conv Valvoline 4cycle motorcycle for for $6 a quart. 1.5qts an oil change. No filter and motorcycles use engine oil in the clutch/gears so I change every 3000mi. It has 64000 miles.

Switched back to all natural oil (STP brand), filled it to half-way on the dipstick hash, and it's still at that level 800 miles later. Not sure what would be causing this. Yes, both oils were 5w-30.

Manufacturer recommends changing oil at 7k but in my experience with my own car, the 2.5i boxer engine needs oil added to it by the time 5k hits. Therefore, the oil is changed at 5k.

    Loathe as I am to correct Scotty, I will suggest an alternative to the dash repair question: Bondo. That's how you fix a broken plastic dash. Trim any jagged or raised sections, patch with Bondo as directed by the product packaging. For those unfamiliar, Bondo is a polyester paste that turns into a semi-rigid plastic when cured. It's quite often used in bumper repair, but like, you can craft with it, you can use it as a construction material, the stuff is really brilliant if you get creative. Not food safe though, do not try to make cutting boards or bowls out of it, and no aquarium products for your favorite aquarium dweller. Probably not suggested for sex toys either.

      @Cupcardriver Agreed! I tried their dynamic engine restoration system to flush out an old camry I bought for cheap back in 2020(at 190k mi., now 241,000mi.). Which had been neglected by its previous owners. I could tell they didn't change the oil nearly as often as they should've, and parked it under a tree for months, if not yrs. If I had known about the restoration system when I first bought the car, I would've ran it through the engine as soon as I could. After performing all the routine maintenance the car needed, and switching the car to the high mileage platinum synthetic from Pennzoil, which helped out immensely. But after running the flush earlier this yr, it runs even better now! Thankfully, when I was draining the flush after it had done its job, the flushing fluids weren't much darker than when they went in. It flowed out of the drain smoothly in a clear, light brown color(no sludge buildup). I'm so glad I can find the high mileage platinum at walmart along with the toyota OE oil filter. I love that old car! Still drives like new, barely burns any oil, doesn't leak, dirt cheap to own, and still gets 30+mpg!😆😆😆😆
