Cuz he retired and now is a coach in womens cnt? He played all the way till 2012 or 2014 as far as I know, and he started showing up in international leagues at the mid 90s.
I miss Ma Lin very much , To me he represents all the skills you can develop in table tennis . His style is pure beauty .

Ma Long's forehand wasn't that outstanding back then. He used a lot of backhand blocking instead.
