I have yet to travel to Britain but that is something I would want to try, because of the song! 🙂

It amazes me how The Beatles used an early synthesiser on Abbey Road in such a judicious, subtle and modern way. They just blended it in, didn't go mad with it, and used it to lift the songs and make them sound super fresh.

I'm always so impressed by Ringo's drumming on this piece. With all that irregular tempo during the "Sun-Sun-Sun" breakdown, he's right there, keeping the band steady on the beat. Such an incredible talent.
George Harrison was so underrated as a guitarist and song writer. He was awesome! All the songs he wrote that the Beatles actually did were some of the best songs. George was underrated as a Beatle, but now he's finally getting the recognition. Like all great artists, he was never really appreciated until after his death! What a shame! I personally loved all his songs. I loved "I need you!" From the movie/album Help! "While my guitar gently weeps", "Something", "Don't bother me", "Bluejay way", "I'm in mine"! Then "All things must pass" the album! Truly a genius in his own right! He was always my favorite Beatle. He proved he was the best actor of the bunch in, Hard days night, and Help! RIP, George, you are missed!
I respectfully disagree. I think that George was absolutely appreciated upon release of “All Things Must Pass,” long before his death. But I do agree that he was awesome!

I love watching younger people discover the Beatles. Especially when they end up really liking them. I'm pretty young in terms of being a Beatles fan, only 36, but I love seeing even younger people getting turn onto them. They're the best ever.
I graduated high school in 1970. In my senior year we went on the "Walk For Mankind", a 40 mile walk around the Twin Cities and we got sponsors to pay us by the mile we walked. We started in a football stadium and it was raining. Just before the start of the walk, the sun came out and everyone started singing "Here Comes The Sun". It was AWESOME!!!!! One of the most poignant moments in my life. And, yes, I did the entire 40 mile walk.

Didn’t watch the news or know anything personal about them at that point just like the music and I thought, most of them were really cute ha ha. But I remember my parents and grandparents did.not.like.them.at.all!! Set all this rock stuff is going to lead to destruction of the youth and drugs and violence, and I’ll kinds of stuff. There was no talking them out that are them, hating rock ‘n’ roll, even Elvis. I although being 62 now, the world sure has turned out like grandparents and parents told me it would mostly hateful and violent and disregarding of other people, but I doubt this song or this group did that lol hope you enjoyed your song and I like the reaction.

It is a strange thing watching a Gen Z girl listen to the Beatles when I was around (as a child) when they were the biggest band in the world. They clearly connect with people of any era. I wonder if people will still listen to them in a hundred or two hundred years? - we still listen to Bach and Mozart so it is possible.
The video was made decades later...one of the more tasteful videos...we didn't need videos to sell music back then...just hearing ANYTHING by the Beatles without visuals. Ringo's inventive drumming in this with odd time changes is excellent...may other drummers at the time would not have attempted this except guys like Keith Moon of the Who.

I had heard “some” of the music my parents had listened to in the 1950s and early 1960s, but only because I listened to an oldies channel on the radio. There was no internet, back then. Just radio, records, cassette tapes, and cds. Cds weren’t available until the 1980s. I didn’t know anything about music my grandparents or great grandparents listened to. Times change. Life moves on. But I’m glad younger generations are being re-introduced to this music. Without newer technology this music may have died all together.

The remaining Beatles (Lennon was murdered in 1980) sued Nike. Michael Jackson owned the rights then and Yoko approved it. However, the three Beatles settled out of court/sealed and the song was pulled by Nike. Sooo, if you do hear a Beatles song in any advert, moving forward, it’s undoubtedly a cover group.

Nothing is more annoying than people who assume that their experience with and exposure to music is universal and the same as everyone else's, and then proceed to take reactors to task for not knowing much about the Beatles/Stones/Byrds/Who/Kinks/etc. etc. There are zillions of media outlets for music nowadays, and no one can ever take them all in - as opposed to when I grew up in the 70s and had a couple of radio stations and a couple of TV channels at my disposal. Even then, I wasn't always up on all the bands of that time, and am still learning at age 61 (and I'm not even counting current bands and performers). So you are doing just fine, and your approach of not doing research beforehand is a good one - it's just like how I heard music back in the day.
