DARPA and Materials

- In 1960, DARPA funded three university-based Inderdisciplinary Laboratories (IDLs) that opened the way toward an enormous field of research and development known today as materials science and engineering. In this video, DARPA program managers, DARPA-funded researchers, and a Naval Research Laboratory scientist tell this field-building story as it unfolded over the past six decades, all the while delivering breakthroughs in the way materials are designed, processed, and deployed to push technologies forward. Intelligent processing of materials (IPM), accelerated insertion of materials (AIM), and integrated computational materials engineering (ICME) are among the specific programs detailed in the video. DARPA is currently developing technologies that enable the crafting of new materials with unprecedented properties by designing and controlling matter from atoms on up to human-scale systems.
Interesting to learn about some materials processing and development! Thank you for the video!
Is this why I'm pulling green blue yellow long fibers out of my body
Let's see some of technology in Simcoe Ontario Canada please!!! Good work !
DARPA IS THE REASON WHY WE ARE NUMBER 1 SUPERPOWER IN THE WORLD!!!!
But lost in Vietnam and got a bloody nose in Somalia. Afghanistan? What about gang violence on your streets? Why don't get rid of it.?
Who
@@teddahmer3338 the US didn't lose Vietnam, we simply got bored.
@@teddahmer3338 that would be racist! 😂🙄
Now discuss everything you have accomplished using nanodiamonds, quantum networking, quantum sensors and neural networking
Verry usefull document about new materials, that a case for new builds pro schematics layers of materials
AWESOME!
verry interesting
"And the real future of material science will no longer be how a material is created, it will be how we develop rational and effient ways to decide what to build"
- John Main
So, how do we develop rational and efficient ways to decide what to build? Also, who is “we”? Hopefully, there will be lots of we’s.
As for using atoms like LEGOs, does that mean mass production and integration into everyday life of room temp superconductors is coming soon!?
Good video, folks. DARPA is a great way to spend (invest?) some of our tax dollars.

Send me to another planet soon please! Love the crazy dimensions I get to go to!
Awesome ❤️
when i saw this it makes me think its the black magnetic dust particles being moved by a particle accelerator through a medium such as dirt; to cause harm to the plants like in the dust bowl.
You sound intelligent, can you see my "first person" vid and tell me any solutions? Thanks

Right on!🙌
All universities should be involved even if at a lesser part
We have bits and parts that works together so that AI can control each bit or part to form what is required of them at the same time
By the way if ever hadn't thought of it's possible. Just got to wait for technology to catch up
I'd like to see an oobleck type material for body armor with some sort of electrochemical process that can harden body armor with a flick of a switch in battleground engagements if possible.
Further process is liquid insulator for extreme temperature conditions? But again I'm going off the deep end with this.
James McDonough you're not off the deep end....I haven't seen much progress on the US side...(it is an active program)….but Russia has something similar they've demoed. US side check project TALOS/MR Fluids.
@@rumls4drinkin what do you it is an active program? U.S already has liquid material that can stop bullets instantly way before Russia
that would not be energy wise if it has a switch, liquid materials that use for body armor does not need a switch or a battery. they change its shape at a molecular level to cancel the force of impact of high speed projectile. like you can easily sunk your foot on a pool of balls, but you cant on pool of lego's specially when they are properly stacked to each other.

GOD BLESS THE EISENHOWER TREATY

People! You should ask Los Angeles Municipal, Pepsi, Coca-cola, Danone, Nestle, Atlanta Municiple, Chicago municiple, Seattle municiple, why they are working with Darpa and the Department of Defense to "reach 99% projected infection for general us population liquid dispersal .."

The document is posted on my community page- a link to the video regarding nanobots being used against us is posted two down. We should be paying attention to what some food manufactures are doing.
what is the link and the video of nanobots video link please?
May our heavenly Father bless you and keep you safe. Obey his word and thou shalt be saved if you repent, believe and obey the Saviour who died for us and rose again the third day.

Thanks DARPA I just watched something from the FBI and there's a big problem somewhere else. Some sort of a I don't know let's say like proprietary thing going on. Anyways. Funding for research and equipment job please
Hi DARPA i am a sri lankan university student , can u talk about ur supply chain management policy ???
nope💀
If one was to call this organization evil they would then be sued by the word evil for defamation of character.
Soviets, now are... fare fare behind than you are.
By the way guys... I'm 127 years old today!

Et pour nous qui ne parlons pas anglais !
The next step will be the construction of new atoms, with unique properties, from subatomic particles. This is where CERN's research will take us. But it will take some time, probably 100 years or more.
Material Science is way ahead & out of reach to stay,(I can't hear you !)😁. Like wax type with repeatible

Does anybody make comments like this? Probably not chicken butts
Darpa if your so great tell me why you haven't developed a app on your phone that you can point at a grave and read there last thoughts , there ideas ,etc. There's a ton of wealth just laying around! O and it is doable . I'm not so sure y'all could pull it off but i know for a 100% fact it can be done!
Unethical, maybe some people want thoughts kept private. As a victim I strongly make that statement.

Question Vietnam was a horrible out come. Has anyone thought of a new way to fix that kind of warfare? Robots sounds great but they have flaws. If I can stop a Simi truck for $10.00. Your robotic department is a waste of money. Them smaller motors won't stand a chance. I think out side the box not inside.
