I served almost three decades in the Army and am a retired Paratrooper and combat veteran. You are absolutely correct about the similarities between being in the US Army and the Army of God. It isn’t always pleasant and comfortable. It requires your everything, sometimes literally your everything, your last full measure. It doesn’t matter if it is the US Army or the Army of God, you need to do “embrace the suck”, as we would say. That means to keep going no matter what because that is the only way to endure until the end.
